Tasty,

EPISODE III SPOILERS

Does Quinlan Vos die on Kashyyyk (as portrayed in the deleted scene in the script), or on Boz Pity (as I'm told it appears in the comic)?

END SPOILERS

Yeah, the pub dates for Outbound Flight and Dark Lord have been swapped... Dark Lord is now coming out in November (or Oct? I'm at home and can't remember..) and Outbound Flight has been pushed to February.

Oh no! I understand the reasoning I guess...but that's kind of disappointing for those of us looking forward to Outbound Flight.

Eeusu, what planet/sector do you represent in the Senate? If you don't know, what planet/sector would you like to represent?

This means one of 3 things:

1. Yoda returned to Polis Massa after Naboo to stow away on this freighter, and thus the ICS story is still true.

2. The Polis Massan pod was taken on the Tantive IV, meaning Yoda still used it but the story is different.

3. Yoda was dropped off in the Tantive IV, meaning that the Polis Massan escape pod and its story are apocryphal.

Which is the official line?

Sorry if someone has already asked this, but I have a question I'd like to put to the VIPs regarding the RotS Incredible Cross Sections.

In the book, the last 2 pages are dedicated to escape pods utilized by Yoda. One is his Kashyyyk pod, the other is a Polis Massan craft. According to the text, Yoda stows away aboard a freighter from Polis Massa and then uses the escape pod to fly to Dagobah...

...however, Ep. III clearly shows that Yoda was aboard the Tantive IV when they took Padmé's body to Naboo.

About the ROTJ novelization.. I have some thoughts but I was hoping for more solidarity in my mind. I know much of what Obi Wan says in ROTJ about Padme has to be looked at from a certain point of view.. and that clearly Leia and Luke could both be having images from some sort of force connection with Padme and that is why they remember her. My question is this.. am I to believe it is simply a force connection implied.. or is there something more to this story of Padme and her children?

Knowing that the OT was written so long ago.. I could just write it off as an inconsistency.. but some wise person around these parts told me that most of the EU could in fact be explained without losing much in the way of timeline/and or storyline. So I would like to know if I am headed down the right path of knowledge.. or if I should be searching in a different direction for how Leia and Luke remember Padme in the EU.

Where was the picture, eddie?

As mentioned in Sue's profile, It can be viewed insideIDG's Revenge of the Sith: Official Episode III Souvenir Movie Guide page 7 (bottom left, behind Lucas'left shoulder). And for the Ukians under us, the pic is shown in Star Wars Magazine # 57, page 35 (with SW # 57 being a reprint of the 'exclusive order it online-only' IDG publication, albeit with a different page order...

The omnibus is a trade paperback, that bigger sized one... something like 4 x 7... you know. The individual mass market paperbacks will also be coming out. I don't remember the dates right off the top of my head.... but will post again on Monday.

Judging by release dates given by amazon.com
... recent starwars.com Dark Lord
article[/url], it seems that the release schedules of
Outbound Flight and Dark Lord have
swapped around.

That is, Outbound Flight is now due for
January 31 (1st hardcover of 2006), and +Dark
Lord+ is now due for November 22 (3rd hardcover
for 2005).

Is this the case, or have amazon.com and starwars.com
made a mistake?

As far as Outbound Flight is concerned it has to be a mistake ... the colour publicity blurb that came with the e-chapter of "The Making of" and the RotS Screenplay was very clear that the release date for OF is October 25.

Because, technically, he's not doing anything more illegal than real, legitimate fan sites. Everyone with a fan site is using George Lucas's intellectual property without permission.

True.

However, Supershadow is not just using Lucas's intellectual property as mine, and everyone else's fansites are doing. Supershadow has done many other questionable things, including impersonate George Lucas. See HERE. The page I linked to is a supposed Q & A session with George Lucas himself giving the answers. There is no disclaimer saying that it is satirical. SS clearly wants his readers to believe that Lucas really did write those answers. Now I'm not a lawyer so I may be wrong, but I would think that Supershadow could be shutdown for impersonating George Lucas.

The article says it's a trade paperback.

Sorry. :8} That's what I get for reading too quickly. ;\

Yes. Labyrinth of Evil on September 27 and RotS on October 25 (at least those are the dates I've been able to find).

Ah, thanks. :)

Was this announced somewhere?

They've been out for about a month, I've got copies on my shelf. ;)

Which brings me to another point, I'm very glad to see the Original Trilogy novelisations reissued as separate books again, and I love the cover art taken from the DVD cover designs.

I just saw the announcement of the Omnibus Edition of LoE and ROTS, will that be a hardcover or a trade paperback?

The article says it's a trade paperback.

And will both eventually be available as separate mass-market paperbacks?

Yes. Labyrinth of Evil on September 27 and RotS on October 25 (at least those are the dates I've been able to find).

I just received the first pass page proofs for THE UNSEEN QUEEN. For the page counters, it's 333 pages.

I love it when the page count is such a nice number! It must be in honor of Episode III. Of course, it'll probably change... but it's still awfully satisfying. ;-)

*I ask because I'm wondering whether it would be
feasible to, at any time in the future, re-publish
some of the older books with the new era symbols,
timeline, and so on.

This is not likely. Many of these older Bantam novels have gone back to press, but in quantities that make it less than cost effective to reprint a new cover and add the timeline inside.*

Yeah, that makes sense. But who knows, maybe in 200 years, when we're all dead, people will look back and say, "Hey, look at these really old books! We could make a lot of money if we republished these with fancy new immersive-holographic-full-motion covers and era symbols and timelines!"

Out of curiosity, have those books been republished under DelRey or Bantam?

And thank you sooooo much for all your wonderful posts & tidbits and such... speaking of which...
