+Sremmuy, is the door pretty much closed on further New Republic Era books? Or is there a possibility of more stand alone novels like Tatooine Ghost and Survivor's Quest? +

Is there really much else than can be written about in the NR era? I thought they've pretty much covered everything possible.

*Sue, was the OF/DL swap done to capitalize on the
ROTS fever by releasing DL early*

Yep, that was the reason. There are no problems with OF.

Sue, was the OF/DL swap done to capitalize on the ROTS fever by releasing DL early, or is there some hangup on OF? I doubt you'll answer but it's worth a shot....

Tramp what are Luke and Leia? Force Sensitive! Work out the rest.

Sure, but that still doesn't explain why one remembers and the other does not. You'd expect that both would remember, or neither would.

Perhaps they aren't real memories: Bail knew Padme pretty well, so surely he would have told Leia a little about her mother (although not the full story obviously) and shown her pictures. Then Leia may have subconsciously manufactured memories based on the pictures and stories (any psychologist can tell you that this happens).

Conversely, the Larses barely knew Padme so they would be less likely to tell Luke anything about her.

*Any chance we might get any little tidbits of info
about Dark Lord anytime soon?*

No, not real soon. I usually get carried away when I'm reading the page proofs, and have to post something.... but they aren't due for another month or so.

> Knowing that the OT was written so long ago.. I could just write it off as an inconsistency.. but some wise person around these parts told me that most of the EU could in fact be explained without losing much in the way of timeline/and or storyline. So I would like to know if I am headed down the right path of knowledge.. or if I should be searching in a different direction for how Leia and Luke remember Padme in the EU.

It isn't the EU so much as RotJ, the movie. According to the movie, Leia has memories, albeit vague, of Padmé. Luke specifically asks if she remembered her real mother, to which she responded "Only a little bit. She died when I was very young." She goes on by describing her as very beautiful, kind yet sad. These are not things a newborn would remember (especially since children don't develop long-term memory until the age of three or four), and Luke, who has no memories of her, was born first. How do you plan of fixing this incongruity?

Hey folks!

Faraer:

the article also clarifies that the two-lightsaber variant form the web expansion calls Niman (now reclaimed for Form VI) is more properly Jar'Kai; is this "Fight Saber"'s two-lightsaber variant of Form IV, or something else?

Jar'Kai is a term taken from the the X-Wing: Alliance PC game. Dan Wallace expanded it to encompass Jar'Kai dueling in the New Essential Guide to Characters, and that's where I borrowed the term from for the Dark Forces Saga articles. :)

Can we get an accurate list of the known lightsaber forms, with numbers and (High Galactic) names, please?

Not all the lightsaber form names are High Galactic, of course. The name Niman for Form VI is a Kashi Mer term.

Happy to be here!

Take care,
Abel

Thanks for clearing things up Tasty. I thought this would be one of those last minute changes to filming, like the Wookiee catamarans.

Maybe the official line will become clear when they update Yoda's databank entry for Ep. III? We'll just have to wait and see, I guess.

Yoda's trip to Kashyyyyk.... Which is the official line?

An official line has yet to be established. The ICS passage was written prior to the determination that the Jedi would risk being aboard the Tantive IV for the trip to Naboo. At that point, it was still thought that the Tantive IV had not yet left the vicinity of Polis Massa.

Just because Yoda was aboard a Polis Massan freighter doesn't mean he had to catch it at Polis Massa. He could have caught it en route from Polis Massa to anywhere in the galaxy.

Rest assured, whatever is ultimately established, the ICS is passage will be taken into account.

Yeah, the pub dates for Outbound Flight and Dark Lord
have been swapped... Dark Lord is now coming out in
November (or Oct? I'm at home and can't remember..)
and Outbound Flight has been pushed to February.

The omnibus is a trade paperback, that bigger sized
one... something like 4 x 7... you know. The
individual mass market paperbacks will also be coming
out. I don't remember the dates right off the top of
my head.... but will post again on Monday.

whoa! What a change...

Although at the moment I am looking forward to Dark Lord more than Outbound Flight. :D

However, with all that OF publicity attached to the screenplay/e-chapter we're going to have a few complaints in October...

Where was the picture, eddie?

As mentioned in Sue's profile, It can be viewed
insideIDG's Revenge of the Sith: Official Episode III
Souvenir Movie Guide page 7 (bottom left, behind
Lucas'left shoulder). And for the Ukians under us,
the pic is shown in Star Wars Magazine # 57, page 35
(with SW # 57 being a reprint of the 'exclusive order
it online-only' IDG publication, albeit with a
different page order...

I really should keep checking Sue's profile shouldn't I? ;)

And there it is! Woo-hoo (thanks for the UK page reference - that's the one that I have :D)

That's a doozy of a different page order - page 7 to 35... I assume the US version has the story line after the profiles.
