I'm guessing they had multiple authors in mind, like the rest of the series, and then decided that Jude was doing a good job (and I'm sure she's happy for the work!). But I'd like to hear an official answer on this one, too.

How come Dave Wolverton wrote the first Jedi Apprentice book and Jude Watson wrote the rest?

I'm certainly not complaining. I like both authors. I was just wondering if there was a particular reason for the switch.

Can you give an approximate number of books that were sold?

*Series, no matter their length, tend to taper off with each book that is released. * Good writting, :)

Do you think it was the speed inwhich each book was released and the number of authors? I know I am reading one series and after almost a decade I am still waiting for the last couple books to come out, while NJO was pushing out books every few months.

Oh -- yes, sales were better than expected -- we never expected a 19-book series to be as strong when it ended as when it began. Series, no matter their length, tend to taper off with each book that is released.

Darth Saluki,

I can't give out sales figures. Sorry. For the NJO series, the books all sold fairly equally -- it didn't seem to matter who the author was.

Sue,

Are you able to let us know the sales figures for the NJO books? I asked long before there was a VIP thread, but only received a "It is a NY Times best seller" type answer. I'm really just trying to find out if the sales were better that expected and if the author affected sales.

Is there any possibility of starwars.com archiving the Clone Wars flash site material that was originally was up on Cartoon Network's website?

Cool. So perhaps you could change the title to reflect the expanded topic: something like *Death Stars' Designers and Construction Timelines (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)*?

Correct. And that's an excellent idea.

All posters discussing that subject, please continue in the thread linked by Valin.

Mods, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think discussion of the DS2's construction timeline could go in this thread:

The Death Star and Continuity Issues (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

which is technically about the first DS's timeline, but DS2 construction could probably be discussed there too. Right?

(Just trying to prevent derailing this thread with another tangential discussion.)

But I'm not sure whether comic strips from the official Lego magazine are considered canon...

I hope not. Otherwise, we have to accept the incredibly modular construction of GFFA equipment, and the incredibly high-speed engineering and construction skills of the minifigs . . . err, heroes. ;-)

When did the construction of the second Death Star begin?

Well, there was a story about construction of the Death Star beginning just after the Battle of Yavin. But I'm not sure whether comic strips from the official Lego magazine are considered canon... ;)

The chapter is posted on the day the book releases, so Cestus Deception won't be out until June.

There should be. Have we missed some? <<

Well, the last excerpts have been for 'Survivor's Quest', 'Ruins of Dantooine' and 'The Unifying Force', all titles which have been available for a while (not counting the few paragraphs from 'A New Threat'). So far, there haven't been any excerpts for 'Cestus Deception' and 'Medstar: Battle Surgeons' (both out in about two months), and of course 'The Hive' and any books set to be released after July.

Sue, how come there aren't any more sample chapters for upcoming books?

Alternatively, I would humbly recommend my website's Star Wars book release schedule, which I update once a month.*

That was very useful actually. I wanted to know when Shatterpoint was out in PB. I've not read any of the books since TUF and I was going to wait until Shatterpoint hit PB to start reading the Clone Wars novels.

I forgot about Hammertong... yeah, so if you're right, it makes sense mostly. Though it still seems to have gone too fast...

Someone asked about the Hive. It is an E-Book tiein with Cestus Deception. I found a heading for it at the randomhouse page.

Sue, how come there aren't any more sample chapters for upcoming books?
