At the thread initiator's request, this thread will be locked. There are several threads in this forum to discuss Karen's books, but MO is right - she won't be returning here to answer any new questions.
Questions or comments can be directed to Forum Feedback.

In response to le pessant's post in the vip
I'm ticked off too homie, why make a series in a era, crammed with material . I've only read two of Ms. Traviss books they were both good reads and I was looking forward to that Boba Fett book. You'd think that the series writers for The Clone Wars would respect their colleagues work. But then I read Ms. Traviss has also done the same thing in her work and now, she feels dissed. Why can't G.L. take more interest in his baby(SW).

Well, at least she's decided to write the 2 IC books before she goes. Not every author is going to be with SW forever.
And it's not like she hasn't changed previously established canon considerably herself...

Is it possible that us, the fans, drove her away?
There will be critics no-matter-what. Gotta have thick skin.

That series is continuing in the form of the Imperial Commando series, which picks up sometime after Episode III with largely the same cast.

I've corresponded with Karen herself quite a few times, and have found her to be very cool and down to earth in a one-on-one type setting, better than forums and message boards (when she did post). That contact page is definitely the best way to get in touch with her if you have serious questions or comments about her novels/writing. Asking her stuff about future books, spoilers and how to get your fan fiction published is probably not such a great idea (as her page says), and as she's said before, she simply deletes them and doesn't read them due to legal issues, etc.
Not many authors out there take the time to reply to all the countless fan mail she no doubt gets on a daily basis, and I like to take advantage of it while I can!

+She uses a contact board system through her homepage
It does! I sent her an email and she responded the same day! +
Glad to hear it! I'm just going to underline this for other posters because I know a lot still ask questions in various threads here, she's pretty open with her fans, but if she had to go through all the various forums and threads she'd never get anything written, but she's quick to respond via that contact page. If you see posters who really want to get in touch with her, point them in the right direction, she enjoys hearing from the fans even if she can't always give direct answers due to spoilers

I have been saying and wanting something like this
for years. KT would be an ideal candidate for such a
novel, or possibly even Luceno. He did an amazing job
with Cloak of Deception, which is close to
what you mention above.
I like Luceno's work better for this than Traviss', she's better at the ground combat - special forces type stuff. I think Luceno would be better for the intrigue and suspense involved.
