Have you read the end of the book yet? It will help clarify it more for you!*

On page 187 of TZ, Etain and Darman are talking, right? Well, anyways, when Etain says, "So...how long does it take two squads to finish their meals in the bar?" And Darman replies, "Long enough I think."
Don't think that I have a dirty mind or anything, but was Etain thinking about doing "it" with Darman at that time?
I mean i'm only 14 so it takes me a very long time to work things out. I've had the book for almost a year now, and I have been barley realizing more things, with my mind still in training and what not. Only 3 1/2 years of school left, and hopefully i'll understand the whole book by that time, so just please bear with me.

Nope, there's big spaces in there. The game covers a few missions and as you progress you go further and further into the war, but there are large chunks of time between missions, and TZ is set during one of Delta's downtimes.

Thanks JamesGilmer. I don't get to play the game for very long periods of time, as it belongs to a friend, and I don't have an Xbox. I didn't realize that it jumps around in the timeline though, I just thought it was all continuous. Cool, that clears some stuff up.

Spartan -
The game obviously jumps around a bit in the timeline since the first mission takes place on Geonosis, but TZ, the novel, takes place before the last mission of the game (for obvious spoilery reasons that I won't get into).

Oh, that's all right. I am pretty sure that this has to take place before the game, just due to the fact that Sev is still around. I don't own the game either, but I did play it at a friends house, and it is quite an experience.

Ok, first post as a Hyperspace member, w00t! Anyway, this book (TZ) does take place before the events of Republic Commando (the game), right? I would like to say that I absolutely love this book, and it stays wiht me almost everywhere I go. I have this sinking feeling that I may need to get a second copy, as my current one is sort of falling apart after the amount of times I've read it...
Completely off topic, but does anyone know how i can change my display name? I created this account years ago, and just recently got Hyperspace.

I, too, look forwards to the return of I-5.
More on topic, I recently (well, in the past six months, anyways) managed to get my hands on TZ at last. The book really hooked me from an emotional standpoint -- lots of raw, undiluted feelings going around. And I love the intelligent examinations of ethics and the military. Definitely belongs on my favorites list.
