Sue,
With the 2 new RC books announced at SDCC what has happened to the Coruscant Nights trilogy? Are there still 3 books or has it been reduced to 1?
Thanks

You're right the RC game was not the greatest, but still fun. The beginning where your clone character was "born" was brilliant! I think that game as a series still has potential. The Republic Commando novels are excellent though. I say do both. Never put it into anyone's head to only make one Star Wars book or the other! Make both!
BTW, I just reread "The Cestus Deception" and was wondering if Steven Barnes will be tapped to write more SW books? I thought he did an excellent job on that book.

They fought for the Vong in the beginning of the war, according to Revenants (a story from Tales).

Sue- I have a question. I'm greatly happy that there is going to be 2 more Republic Commando novels by Karen Traviss, but soemthing has struck me as odd. The Republic Commando video game was nothing expectacular to both the video game community as well as the star wars universe. On the other hand, KOTOR 1 and 2 have been substantial hits, in fact both have won many prestigious industry awards, not to mention both have been given Halo type marks by the top video game magazines. Wouldn't it be better to have had novels in that era instead of RC? Would this be something that could be looked into when the new contract is re-newed after 2008? I know we have the comic book series, but I am not a major fan of the KOTOR comic books. I would have thought books in that era would also be very succesful, like there video game counterparts.

Sue- Will the Boba Fett e-book be released in paperback later on? I like to own my stuff instead of just reading it on the computer.

Sue said (according to that blog entry, at least) that LOTF would not be the "last hurrah for the original trilogy heroes". So... what this means is... the Big Three are not going to die in the series? Right?

I didn't LOSE my Hyperspace.....just.......ahh...misplaced it.
Just expired. I'll renew it in a few weeks.....unfortunately, it ran out right at SDCC time, so I can't post blogs or comment on VIP blogs....
Now, if KT or Sue or someone post a blog about the new LotF or RepCom books, I can't weigh in...
But I will rise from the ashes...

RE: the Mando/Vong issue: The Mandalorians originally sided with the Vong (as a kind of elite Peace Brigade) but at some point they realized the Vong were losing the war and turned against them, liberating planets such as Tholatin and Gyndine (and Caluula Station, as seen in TUF). The invasion of Mandalore by the Vong seems to solidify the Mando position as of the last year of the war.

From what I've gathered, it seems at some point, the Mando's were basically doing the Peace Brigade thing. Word has it that by the time of TUF, the Mandos realized who the winning side would be, then decided to work for THAT side.....'cause the Mandalorians are pretty practical people, ya know?
This is all conjecture from fans, but it seems that what KT has said might lend some credence to it.

Yeah, and a platoon of Mandalorians kicked the CRAP out of the Vong. Perhaps they had a similar opinion to the Vong's view of the Jedi, as Fett said he basically doesn't like Jedi to Han. Mandalorians only side with Mandalorians though.

Uh in one of the NJO novels Boba Fett and the new Mandalorians were fighting against the Vong. Was the Tales story before they stopped making them Infinity stories?

I believe the "Mandalorians joining the Vong" thing originated in the Tales story Revenants, which has enjoyed a state of dubious canocity up til now, since Han and Boba were not supposed to have met for a long time in TUF. Hopefully A Practical Man will reference it and bring it fully into the fold.
