Really GREAT cover! Wow! It's got a very classic sci-fi/fantasy look from the heydey of the genre! Good choice guys! And I have to say, the description has got me itching to read it!
And is that woman in the back holding Morag the Tulgah Witch's staff!?! That looks like the Sunstar/Shadowstone! Either that, or I've been immersed in the SW Universe for far too long!

When does this actually take place? The sort of "opening crawl" puts it six months after ROTJ (4.5 ABY, so to speak), but Luke is referenced as being 24 (not 23, as he should be during the year following ROTJ).
Not to flog an already moot point, but his birthday couldn't have been in those six months?
And if Mindor does indeed fall at 5.1 ABY, who ever said RotJ wasn't set at 4.6 or 4.7 ABY? RotJ would still be classified as 4 ABY no matter when in the year it was placed...

I did enjoy it, Dynamic Dickering Duo aside. I'm really most excited about the trade paperback format, though, and hope to see more of these in the future.

Sue, with the new Blood Oath cover being revealed, can we expect that is what most of FOTJ novel covers will look like: A main character and then minor characters in the background? Also, does Lucasbooks think using EU characters on covers might impede sales due to some fans having no idea who they are or will it become more common because knowledge of the EU is growing?
PS-- Really, really looking forward to seeing the Outcast cover and the EUC interview! Congrats with +Wild Space+-- one the best of '08, as I see it.

Sue can we expect any news at least on books coming out in the fall of 2011 anytime soon like will there be a hardcover in the fall of '11 and what era will it take place in? Or will there be any other hardcovers coming out in 2011 besides Fate of the Jedi #9?
Things chang so often that whatever I posted now would be different in a month, and then different again the month after that. Better to wait until there's something fairly solid, so there'll only be a couple changes!

The BLOOD OATH cover has just been posted.
The OUTCAST cover needs a few more tweaks.

Well, it works and prevents there from being major problems.
Another question Sue, how many hardbacks were in the new contract?

*My source says 5.1 ABY *
So, not 6 months after like the novel says, but not 1.5 year after after like the EC says. More like right around the midpoint of those two, yet still juuuuust enough after the 5 ABY mark to allow him to have gotten the promotion the way it describes in the EC.
Intriguing choice on whomever's part that was.

With regard to Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor . . .
When does this actually take place? The sort of "opening crawl" puts it six months after ROTJ (4.5 ABY, so to speak), but Luke is referenced as being 24 (not 23, as he should be during the year following ROTJ). The Essential Chronology (or was it the New Essential Chronology?) that created the Shadowspawn scenario placed the event a year and six months after ROTJ (5.5 ABY), stating that Luke became a general after events in another situation that took place one year after ROTJ (5 ABY, right around the era of the Glove of Darth Vader, etc. series).
So . . . when is LSATSOM supposed to be taking place? 4.5 ABY or 5.5 ABY? Has the date from the Essential Chronology been changed? Was the six month reference in the "opening crawl" an error that should've said a year and six months or something similar?

Millenium Falcon would hardly compare to a potential Whills or Plagueis/Qui-Gon novel, IMO. But, accepting the fact that it will never happen is something we must do. It sucks.
Welcome back, Sue. I hope you had a good Christmas and New Years. I'm sure there is a heap of work on your desk at this point, so all I really wanted to say was thank you for Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor. It was one of the best, most solid SW stories I have read in years, and I look forward to more contributions from Stover in the future.
All I can say is that, I hope more authors can take Stover's recent novel as an example of what fans really look for in a SW novel. Thanks!

The best bit of that novel concept, in my opinion, was the idea of parallel quests, which made it into Millennium Falcon instead. All is good.

Sue, a question regarding the lack of possibility of a Whills novel, is that because there's no intention at the moment of doing one, or because it, like yoda's background is off limits for the time being?
Secondly, will we be seeing Outcast or other cover art soon?
