Welcome to the boards, Warriorpoets1. The news archive for republic 50 says it's 2 months after AOTC. Republic 49 was about 1 month later, so if I had to guess I would say Jedi:Mace Windu would be 3 months later. That's just a guess though, and until it comes out, your guess is as good as mine.

P.S. If you haven't already, check out the thread called "BAC FORUM FAQ AND THREAD DIRECTORY READ THIS THREAD OR BE IN MY CROSSHEIRS". Inside it is a link to a website that the regulars and moderatoras have worked hard on. If you read it and follow it's advice you can avoid being chewed out for breaking rules. If you've already visited the above please disregard.

Nathan, with all due respect to you and LFL, you REALLY expect Star Wars fans to accept Greedo shot first, no matter what LFL says?

Just saying.

Oh and re: Jedi: Mace Windu, I'm not sure yet. We'd have to get both Republic 50 and Mace to see, but I would see them happening around the same time.

VIPs:

Will all the Essential guides be revised? Including chronology and species? And do you plan to add any others? For chronology, I'd suggest releasing them in more detailed volumes for each era. That'd be really cool.

VIPs:

How many months after AOTC is the upcoming Jedi: Mace Windu comic?

Also, will there be more trade paperbacks with two REPUBLICS and a JEDI besides the one coming in June?

The Radio Drama goes . . .

VEERS: Lord Vader, the starfleet has moved out of lightspeed. All our ships made the transition without incident, but?that is?

VADER: You will pay a terrible price for your next hesitation, General!

VEERS: Com-scan has detected an energy field protecting Hoth, where our probe droid was destroyed. It is a defensive shield, strong enough to deflect any bombardment the starfleet can deliver.

4. When utilizing the scene for stories that include that snippet, the former is used, not the latter, as it is the most widely read and recognized as correct.

5. When comparing the scenes of Luke building his lightsaber, he is presumed to be delivering the dialogue with R2 from the Radio Drama, not necessarily the same type of dialogue as, say, in SOTE.

6. Jedi Knight: The official ending has Kyle becoming a Jedi Knight. The apocryphal ending has Kyle becoming the next emperor. Result: Kyle is a Jedi Knight.

Also, I had a case in point example here as far as continuity and what trumps what goes, if I may. Could a VIP give confirmation that this is how these would be panned out when contradictions arise?

1. Special Edition says Greedo shot first. Original says he didn't. Result: Greedo shot first.

2. ESB novelization says Yoda is blue. Original and SE films say he's green. Result: Yoda is green.

3. Empire Strikes back novelization has Veers say:

"My Lord, the fleet has moved out of light-speed. Com-Scan has detected an energy field protecting an area of the sixth planet in the Hoth system. The field is strong enough to deflect any bombardment.?

There were also limits on when in the farther future or farther past a story could take place, weren't there? No Clone Wars chronicling, no stories of Anakin Skywalker, nothing further than 30 ASW4 or somesuch?

  • can we get a concise list of the things they were specifically told they could not do before the NJO

There isn't a concise list -- always in motion, the list is.

The Bantam authors couldn't kill a character from the films, i.e., we had to get George's okay to let Crix Madine go in DARKSABER.

There was a restriction on Jedi who had joined the Force showing up in their ghostly form.

We didn't want anybody taking Boba Fett's helmet off, although this might have been lifted for the Bounty Hunter trilogy -- I can't remember if the author described Fett's face or not...

I can't think of any other ones at the moment. We probably should have had a restriction on kidnappings!
*

Sue (or whomever): What about the issue of a long term love interest for Luke, or things like who could and couldn't have children? Any do's or don't's on those?

And what type of restrictions did authors have for the NJO, other than just "follow the framework."

*how many books will be made to fill the gap between AOTC and epIII? *

There's no definite number yet, but with the Clone Wars project starting to take off, you can bet that there will be plenty of EU material covering that time period - novels, young readers' books, comics, games, and the TV shorts on Cartoon Network. :**)

Try this link too:

http://www.sta rwars.com/eu/news/2003/01/news20030121.html

It's a list of every novel to be released between now and 2005-at least that they've planned so far. There could be something they're holding back?!

but how many books will be made to fill the gap between AOTC and epIII?

Go to the News Archive of the "Expanded Universe" section here and look up "Chronicling the Clone Wars" this helps to cover much of the books being written during that time.

Hi, purple posters:

I'm new to this forum; I am mainly seen in the spoiler section. Anyway, I don't know if this question has been answered or not already (I only scanned through the first 20 pages), but how many books will be made to fill the gap between AOTC and epIII?

*They won't be as high as 7.99 -- I don't know where that came from. *

From RandomHouse, who seem to have labeled the Stover ebook as a Ballantine book:
