Dash is an excellent character. For some strange reason his name sounded familiar when I first heard it. But clearly this was his debute.

I really liked SOTE...Xizor is awesome and so is Guri. I didn't mind Dash (as a Han replacement).

shadowsof the empire is oneof the best written star wars books period. it is critical and essential link between two worlds. episode 5 and 6. because we go from seeing luke in ESB as a defeated, mess to a self assured and powerful jedi in rotj. and we sonder why, SOTE shows us why

I actually found the game to be quite a letdown....
I just finished the novel (read the junior novelization almost ten years ago). It didn't really measure up and needless to say it won't go down in the annals of history as classic literature. It seemed to just be a portion of a larger commercial attempt to sell merchandise.
Even within the Star Wars books, SOTE is pretty lame. I found it childish and poorly written.

Yeppers. You're Dash the whole way through. The gameplay was incredible for 10 years ago and it's still an amazing storyline. I pull out my old 64 and play it through again once a year or so.

This is one of the only EU books I've truly enjoyed cover-to-cover without feeling like SW was betrayed by an author's licensing. The canon characters stay true to form, but it's easy because they really don't play major roles. Instead, we've got 2 very engaging new characters in Dash Rendar and Prince Xizor that keep the plot moving. Planet descriptions are great, I love getting the behind-the-scenes of the Emperor's Court and the feud between Xizor and Vader, and the Skyhook is rad. Outrider and Leebo seem to fit right in as hero ship / sidekick, and Guri is a nice parallel to a Boba Fett. Very original, very creative, loved it. And the N64 game certainly didn't hurt its status as my favorite EU material of all-time.

You may have to go to a Comic store. Book Stores an hobby shops might not carry it. But a Comic store will. But hey you cant go wrong with Ebay.
