I noticed in Agents of Chaos II: Jedi Eclipse, Luceno said W*o*rth Skidder in one of the sentences instead of Wurth Skidder. Not a discrepancie but just noticed a typo :)

I always thought it was the latter, but pronounced like the former...

Is it Jamilla (Ep. 2 Visual Dictionary) or Jamillia (Databank)?

I have a few questions on the spelling of a few planets. Sorry I don't really have any info on them:

- Gamadar or Gamandar?

- Glottal or Glotta I? Both?

- Katorr or Katorrs? Both?

If you're wondering why I need to know I am keeping a planet/moon/etc. list that I mentioned in one of my blog entries:

In the JAT, the keeper of the holocron was named Vodo Siosk-Baas. In I, Jedi, Stackpole calls him Bodo Baas. Which is correct?

They're actually two separate characters. It's possible they got mixed up somewhere along the line though.

Vodo-Siosk Baas
Bodo Baas

Just checked the UnOfficial Encyclopedia, and Mara had met Melina and altered the name for her use. Not crazy about that idea, but they covered it.

I think that was the author's intention the whole time. He did write both stories, after all.

one question, one comment.

Also, in First Contact Mara Jade goes by the alias Celina Marniss, however there was another character by the name of Melina Carniss.
Kind of shows a lack of imagination to have characters so closely named.

Edit: Just checked the UnOfficial Encyclopedia, and Mara had met Melina and altered the name for her use. Not crazy about that idea, but they covered it.

Kelbis Nu, a rodian jedi from the NJO was refered to as 'Kubis Nu' in an issue of insider.

Jedi Kelbis Nu was confused with Rogue Squadron pilot Koobis Nu - two different characters, though some sort of relationship might be inferred.

Tasty, I know this isn't the place to ask this but since the VIP thread is gone I figure it's as good as any. I know you probable aren't allowed to answer this but, are we ever going to find out what happens to Kar Vastor and Nick Rostu after shatterpoint?

Is it "Klatooinan" or "Klatooinian"?

The "official" spelling is given on the first page of this thread.

I used to get mad at the little things like spelling, but after reading as many sw books as I have, I learned to correct it in my head and keep on going.

Dellow Felegates, anyone?

The one that really irks me is Hans Solo. Garrgghhh!

Right, I'm calm now.

Wasn't there a poll on this website about the most annoying spelling discrepancy in Star Wars?

Including Hans Solo, Princess Leah and Darth Vador.

Somebody find it!

The latter is more likely, since those are both more recent sources...

Is it "Klatooinan" (consistently used throughout Galaxy Guide 12) or Klatooin*i*an (consistently used throughout the Ultimate Alien Anthology and the Star Wars Encyclopedia)?

But we then have the problem that he appears to have been killed in Tattoine Ghost - then alive again in Dark Apprentice.

Exactly: Threkin Horm was killed in TG, and it was Hrekin Thorm in DA. Therefore I would have to assume they're different characters, although based on the description I think KJA meant for him to be the same, but that's gone by the wayside.

(This reminds me of how the two politicians named Doman Beruss have been established as separate characters because one was male and the other female.... ;))

Yes, I know this doesn't mean it can't be... but come on... Ronald Dumsfeld?

Well, it's not +im+possible, I guess... ;) (Well, the SW example isn't, is Dumsfeld a real name? :p ;))

In Jedi Healer, Vondar was spelled Vandar so many times that I didn't know which was the correct spelling for a while.

The subtitles used in the DVDs provide great fuel for this discussion. For example, since the "Dak" spelling is what appears in both the credits and the subtitles of The Empire Strikes Back, moving forward, that's what we'll try to consistently go with for Luke's gunner instead of "Dack" Ralter.
