Do the Kowakian monkey-lizard (Pikk) mentionned in
the decoded version of Dooku captured in reality is
Picaroon C. Boodle (alias Pic), the Dark Jedi ?

What a coincidence, two Kowakian monkey-lizard with a
similar name...

Yes, similar, but not the same.

Yikes. The above post was in reference to Luke/Obi-Wan fighting Vader in Splinter of the Mind's Eye.

I don't think he even defeated him, did he? He knocked him in a hole and essentially ran away.

New Seth Green SW cartoon. Canonical or no?

Personally, if it were just chronicling the "down time" in between saving the galaxy (or what side characters or "normal" people were doing during those Big Events), I'd LOVE to see something like that be canon. But...if it's just spoofing--a la Robot Chicken style...hm... Yeah. No.

I asked it in the BCaT VIP thread before but Sue directed me here. So, any help here would be fine ... and very much appreciated. :)

1. Why are the Darth Bane novels placed at 1020 BBY in the Del Rey book's timeline? As I take it most of the first novel should take place 1000 BBY and the parts happening earlier can't take place 20 (!) years before that, can they? Do you have more precise placements for the three novels in the Holocron?

2. Regarding the new timeline in the Backlash hardcover, does the Rise of the Empire era officially start at 33 BBY now instead of 1000 BBY, so that (almost) everything before Episode I is considered Old Republic era? I don't think this was the case in previous publications.

Thanks.

Mr Leland,

I just got the first tome of Invasion (french edition), and I see some Jedi with Luke, Finn and Le'Ung in the Bulwark en route to Rychel. Notably, a Rodian. Could it be a known Rodian Jedi character ? Jovan Drark, Toile Senn, Kelbis Nu ?

Awesum. Yet another bit of indication that the OT novelizations and radio dramas are S.

Granted, it does look like a shield around the planet being hit, but with a superweapon that throws stuff into Hyperspace, odd special effects aren't exactly hard to explain.

In EU publications is said that Alderaan was a pacifist world with no planetary shield defenses when it was destroyed:

Graveyard of Alderaan: "planetary defenses were discarded as a show of the new philosophy" (p.5)
Dark Empire Source Book: "Alderaan had no shields of any kind, so it was utterly vaporized." (p.125)
Essential Guide to Planets and Moons: "the defenseless planet was obliterated" (p.7)
Ultimate Visual Guide: "The planet had no weapons or military force" (p.75)

Following ANH:

Leia: No! Alderaan is peaceful! We have no weapons, you can't possibly...
Tarkin: You would prefer another target, a military target?

However, in the ANH novel and radio drama, Vader says to Tarkin "The defense systems on Alderaan, despite the Senator's protestations to the contrary, were as strong as any in the Empire."

Who was telling the truth, Leia or Vader? Are correct the EU sources stating that Alderaan had no defense planetary shields?

I actually have it all worked out in a DOC file. It isn't so much different order as a question of when you jump between PSP and DS. I go into it in moderate detail in the next "The EU Review," which should be released on SoloSound.net on Tuesday.

Actually, the DS and PSP versions MESH with each other. They interweave with each other. I've not yet set up the summary for the SWT-G, though, so I can't say 100% how the interweaving is done off the top of my head. That is in the DS version, I believe though.

It might depend on the version of the game you have. In the PSP version, he's a Jedi Master in Act III, starting with the Bespin mission. Nathan said the DS version is substantially different, so it's unclear what the real timeline is. I'd like to know the time placement as well.

Another question about Elite Squadron. The response to my precedent question was evident : the end of the game must take place sometimes between 5.1 ABY and 5.6 ABY (after the Battle of Mindor and before the (General Skywalkfer" six monthes end).

But I read that X-2 is promoted Jedi Master by Luke. Were does this come from ? I can't find any reference.

There aren't any stories (at least that I know of) that reference "Dark Jedi." There are, however, two works that reference it. The Essential Atlas, which includes almost everything, includes the planet Dica, upon which the main events of "Dark Jedi" take place. More interesting, however, is Abel Pena's "The Story of General Grievous: Lord of War," which says that Grievous got a double-bladed lightsaber on either Necropolis or Dica. "Dark Jedi" focuses on Grievous trying to recover his collection of Sith lightsabers from two dark Jedi on Dica who stole them from him, so Pena appears to be referencing more than just the planet (although none of the lightsabers in that story were double-bladed and Grievous didn't kill either of the dark Jedi).

  • "Dark Jedi" is
somewhere in-between, but it's also been referenced.
Again, it seems like these stories have been treated
d more like they're S than N.*

Luke,

For timeline's sake, what story references "Dark Jedi"?

Also, thank you for those links you sent me a while back. I have not had a chance to look into the additions yet, but I always appreciate input.

The length for the Tartan should be 250 meters long based on a scale chart used by the Empire at War team. We'll see about changing the databank.

Hello,

The Tartan Patrol Cruiser is stated as 600m long on the StarWars.com Databank, but is contradicted by canon and common sense, (MOST LIKELY: 140-170M)

The ship has 20 light lasers, yet in the Force Unleashed Campaign Guide has 2 point-defence laser batteries consisting of 5 gunners per battery (so 10 gunners). If the turrets are duel mounted then indeed 20 lasers fair enough,

The ship has 120 max capacity of crew/passengers, 1000T capacity etc.

This is reminiscent of the CR-90 sized class vessels. The ship was also introduced in the Empires at War game to be an opposing force to the CR-90 and so be a similar size.

Also in the description in Force Unleashed Campaign Guide its is stated to be smaller than a Nebulon-B Frigate (gets knackered by them), and to complement Carracks, which usually means half a Carrack's size which would be about 175m.

Is there some other reason for the size discrepancy or a corrected size confirmed? (possibly via e-mail)

Mr. Chee,

In which year does the end of Elite Squadron takes place ? Since Luke is "General", it's probably after 5 ABY (Battle of Mindor is in 5.1 ABY, so Jedi Knight in 5.0 ABY).
