Hey Leland,

Do you know the timeframe for national EU elections in the current LOTF time line?

The reason I'm asking is because Daala was imposed as a solution between the military at the end of the Caedus-led Civil War.

Is the GFFA now a military-assigned leadership/republic? Or do the people still elect the leaders and if so, when is the next one due?

I wasn't sure if it's every 4 years, every 6 years or every 8 years?

Trying to remember the New Republic leadership timeline but perhaps the GA/GFFA run it differently via the LFL team.

Just thought I'd ask, How old is Saba Sebatyne? I don't think it's ever been mentioned.

I'm trying to fix the time the second Death Star begins construction, because the placement of the Ewoks films depends greatly upon the characters' ability to leave Endor (presumably they would not be able to pass through a planetary shield if it were already in place). Does anyone know the official date? The earliest story reference I can find is in Hammertong.

The fate of Breha Organa

Leland, I recently noticed that Breha Organa was killed when the Death Star destroyed Alderaan, and wanted to make sure you had this in holocron so future EU doesn't contradict it:

A Long Time Ago Vol 3 Resurrection of Evil, p. 322, issue 53

Leia thinks, "Oh, father,--did you know what was coming when your scanners sighted the Death Star? A command, a touch of a button--and Alderaan was no more. It was night in our palace--were you Bail awake or asleep, with mother--or alone?"

What age range would you say Aristocra Formbi is in? They described him as an aging Chiss but didn't give an exact age range, anybody got any ideas?

BTW, is there anyone here who knows the month and day of the death of the first guy I mentioned in this thread? That is, by the Galactic Standard calendar. I only know the year.

Way back here, Leland said that Lucasfilm are using a birth date of ~57 BBY for Captain Pellaeon (presumably this is based on "fifty years in the Imperial fleet" in Heir to the Empire, 9 ABY, plus the established info that he was fifteen when he joined the military).

Recently, I came across a statement in The New Jedi Order Sourcebook: "After more than sixty years of service... Pellaeon found himself in command of the entire Imperial military". We might expect this to belong in 12 ABY, when he takes command.

It would make him quite a few years older, and turn "fifty" into a ballpark figure...

(For what it's worth, the Nightsaber RPG module calls him a Grand Admiral in 12 ABY as well, and I don't think this is actually contradicted by any other source, is it...?)

Thoughts?

From what I have read in Wookiepedia, Andur Sunrider is 21 years old when he died.

BTW, how old is Tott Doneeta by the time the Beast Wars of Onderon end?

Actually, most of the novels in the NJO were written
operating on a twelve month, 7 day week calendar (I
point you towards Dark Tide and SbS as evidence).
Balance Point is 10 months after VP (and no, not the
10 month calendar...as someone pointed out, Conquest
is the novel set a year after VP). Anyway, this is
kind of a moot argument. You're arguing what things
could have been (HttE starting 4.9 years after
Endor), and I'm arguing based on the evidence on hand
(although I agree that sometimes rounding is done, I
don't think this is the case for most the material
LFL puts out, for simplicity's sake).

Is there a page reference for Conquest being one year after Vector Prime?

Tramp, its rather weird with the Thrawn Trilogy
because it has all the dates about the Clone Wars and
Honoghr and then it was thrown out of whack when the
Clone Wars actually appeared in the EU. And the PE
date system that cropped up once or twice in +Dark
k Force Rising+ drove me nuts.

That's the author's fault though, GL didn't want them to cover the times before ep IV back when the thrawn trilogy was made. You just have to kind of look over those parts when reading it now or look at the thrawn trilogy like taking place in an alternate universe.

okay thanks, so that puts Grievous like in his mid 40's. I didn't realize he was created so far back cuz the republic series only has him in the latter part of the clone war. They need to make comics on what he was doing during the first year and a half of the war and how he got his other sabers that Dooku didn't give him. :)

He was created some time in the decade between Episode I and II, but he was already probably at least in his thirties when he "became" Grievous.

How old is Greivous in ep III? I was reading visionaries again tonight and I realized it doesn't give an exact date for the events of his creation, is it stated anywhere else when he was created? I haven't read LOE yet but I plan to soon.

Since Jacen( notorious and completely twisted and sick Sith Lord) and Jaina are born in Last Command, which takes place at 9.5 ABY and* Crystal Star* states that their age is 5, * Crystal Star* really should be listed at 14.5 ABY on the timeline or readers might assume that it starts at the beginning of the year and expect the twins to be 4.5 years old.

Actually, Mara's youthfullness came from Vergere's tears, not from normal aging. Mara actually is physically younger than her years as a result of Vergere's tears. If you look at Han, Luke, and even Leia, they all show the signs of their respective ages.

Did I somehow miss the reference to this in the books. I didn't know vergere's tears actually changed her physical appearance. There was a scene in 'Bloodlines' when Luke and Mara were in Lumiya's apartment and he noticed how her face was less lined than he remembered. Then she said there was something wrong with the mirrors and how they make you look more fuller more young and beautiful. Luke then noted that he liked her real self better than the image the mirrors projected. That was the only indication I've heard of her physical appearance and that it had indeed aged with time.

Han is definately showing his age. He isn't nearly as spry as he was at 40 or even at fifty. He is getting old, and has said as much on a number of occasions. Yes, he is phyiscally fit for his age because of his lifestyle and occupation (past and present), but he is still getting old. Age is catching up to him. Remember, Han has been a soldier, a smuggler, a Rebel officer, he has lead a very physically active life which kept him in top physical shape. If you look at many military retirees (those who spent 20+ years in active military service) in real life, they tend to be in much better shape than civilans of the same age. Han has had that kind of life style. That keeps you in shape but does not make you any less old.

Fair enough regarding Mara, though Han seems to have an activity level more like a 49 year old man than a 69 year old one.

Secondly, It has already been stated by the VIPs here that the "60 is the new 40" line was meant as a joke, not something to be taken literally.

Well, if so, they were joking on the square . . .

+> Tramp the wanderer:

No, because increased longevity does not equal a slow-down in the actual aging process. It does not mean that you age any slower, just that the life expectancy is a bit longer. One does not equal the other.

However, the "60 is the new 40" paradigm suggests not only a longer life expectancy but also a slowed aging process, as Mara Jade demonstrates so admirably (so very, very admirably) on the cover of Sacrifice.+
