Tasty - do you know if LFL has plans to ever make the various fonts used in the prequel films-- such as Huttese, Mandalorian, Geonosian, and "Star Wars 76"-- public, or at least the character map for them?

Cross-reference with the EGttF reveals that even Arca throught he was being made a Dark Jedi. Given this being the most recent source, I guess that answers the ghost question.

Dear Leland, I was wondering if you could tell me which Droid is 'Choco' from the 'Great Heep'. Is he the Droid that finds Artoo before heading to the Droid Harem?

And what Biituian is Darva exactly? Is she the woman with the hat?

In Tales of the Jedi: The Freedon Nadd Uprising 2, Arca Jeth is being tortured by King Ommin. According to the comic, Ommin's plan was to torture Arca until he finally gave in to the dark side and became a Dark Jedi, much like Malak did to Bastila in KotOR 1. However, the Power of the Jedi Sourcebook states that Ommin's plan was to turn him to the dark side, then kill him so that he would become a Dark Side Spirit.

Which version is correct?

True, neither actually happened, so what's the significance, right? Well, the comic version does not present any wierd questions in regard to continuity at large, but the RPG book version suggests that Ommin or Nadd had the power to actually turn other Force Sensitives into Force Ghosts, as opposed to them merely being able to learn certain techniques to preserve themselves. And that certainly would be an important point with Force Ghosthood being as controversial and diffuse a topic as it is.

May I ask you to answer the question regarding Bordon and the Jedi chef? Are they the same persons?

Thanks in advance! :)

I've been meaning to ask you: how is the Indycron progressing?
There's a separate thread Indycron continuity database questions

Since Onaconda Farr was rectconned by HoloNet News as being the Rodian Senator in 'TPM', are Tox Don & Pa Dua also the aides on the illustration?

http://www.holonetnews.co m/54/news/1352_2.html

And who are all the people on the balcony on Coruscant at the end of 'Aotc'? Is that Rodian Onaconda Farr or is it Dar Wac?

Wow! So we are not just talking about stuff introduced before testing, but before the Holocron?! AFAIK that was in 2000. Does that mean that everything in question before 2000, including WEG books, are S?

Holy Sith...

I thought the Tales of the Jedi Companion was admirably accurate.

WEG and newspaper strips, too, eh? That's quite surprising, especially the former.

EDIT: On a completely unrelated note, I've been meaning to ask you: how is the Indycron progressing?

When was the actual cutoff point between "older stuff that may or may not fit", and modern continuity testing?

There wasn't really a cutoff point. When I started the Holocron, there were various folks who had differing opinions on what was and wasn't part of the official continuity. Anything whose continuity was in question was initially designated as S-continuity, including the Marvel comics, the WEG RPG, junior novels, video games, the newspaper strip comics; pretty much anything in the EU that wasn't an adult novel, a current comic series, or a non-fiction title (ie The Guide to the Star Wars Universe, the Encyclopedia, the DK books, and the +Essential Guides+).

Didn't that same trailer say you went through the Jedi Trials, which included testing yourself against an ancient foe of the Jedi -probably in hologram or illusion form?

I've recently seen a video about TFU, and I must say I'm surprised : Darth Desolous ? This Sith was in your "Darth List", wasn't he Tasty ? Therefore he must be official, but it's very hard for me to imagine he existed under the Empire, with the Rule of Two in activity... But wait and see after all !
So, can we already know if Desolous is really official, if he really lived under the Empire ( he could be in TFU just for the bonus extras...) or in another time ?
Besides, it seems eventually that Darth Phobos exists. I think the answers for her would be more or less the same that for Darth Desolous, wouldn't they ?

Thanks ;)

Assuming you are right about all this, I will amend my question to Tasty:

That vouches for content produced after what I've learned was the cutoff point of 1991-92, but not previous content. WEG went into a second edition around that time, after all.

The stuff sent to Zahn all predated SWRPG 2E, as that book came out AFTER the HttE Sourcebook (which, IIRC, was the last 1E product). Included in the packet he was sent was the Imperial Sourcebook, which dates back to 1989.

Not to mention how the prequels have messed with some of the backstory presented even in the second edition. President of the Senate turned Emperor who was rendered inefficient as members of the government took de facto control of the Empire, anyone?

Actually, that's what's said in the original ANH novel. WEG came after RotJ, and had no such delusions. It did claim that day-to-day operation of the Empire was in the hands of the bureaucracy, but that's consistent with what we still know of the Empire.

At any rate, the Prequels messed with ALL of the EU, not just WEG.

My understanding of the matter:

WEG was unofficially responsible for keeping Star Wars continuity prior to Lucasfilm bringing that responsibility in-house. Thus, all the groundwork was theirs, and it naturally included their full product line, both before and after the EU Renaissance of the early 90s. As the S-canon category was designed for "older stuff that doesn't quite fit," WEG's stuff wouldn't fall there, since it DID all fit, at least at the time.

As for whether WotC overrules WEG in case of contradiction, as more recently printed material, it likely does in your average case-by-case analysis. Still, they're both C-canon, so that's not a given, and they're of course likely to choose an option that reconciles two apparently contradictory facts whenever possible. Fortunately, WotC has several former WEG folk on staff, so the apparent contradictions have been infrequent.

I think it is a perfectly valid question to ask.

WEG is and always has been as canon as any other EU. When Zahn wrote the Thrawn trilogy he was specifically instructed to keep in continuity with the WEG sourcebooks.

Zahn + WEG = Start of "Modern" EU (ie, its when they started getting serious about keeping everything together)

Tasty, a question:

How does the Holocron treat WEG Roleplaying sourcebooks? Have they been rendered S-canon as a result of Wizards taking over, or are those books that were released after contunity testing began considered C?

If the latter, is it safe to assume that the D20 books take precedent over the D6 ones in case of a contradiction? Yes, I know, case by case. But as a general assumption?

On this picture, are the characters that wear the same outfit as Aehrrley Rue and Rum Sleg actually Rue and Sleg or are they characters that wear exactly the same outfit?

Hello Tasty!

Is it possible that the Jedi chef from Jedi vs. Sith is the same person as Bordon from +Rule of Two+?
