Agreed, but we have G-canon setting a precedent. It's a perfectly good possibility.
There was a question mark behind my uppermost sentence, if you didn't notice.

While T-canon will get priority in conflicts, everything is handled on a case-by-case basis. There is no trumping.

Wow! So this new series will automatically trump any work save the movies if a continuity conflict arises?
...scary...
I'm suddenly that much more happy to know the creators are continuity-minded, and that you are spending so much time with the stuff.

Undoubtedly T-level canon would be above C-level, primarily because of George Lucas's increased involvement. The secondary reason is that the the potential audience for the theatrical release and television run is likely to be many times greater than the rest of the EU combined.

Mr. Chee, I understand you're a busy man, so please answer this in your own time. You mentioned at some point back that a new level in the canon hierarchy, T-Level, would be created to accommodate the various TV shows and such. Have you decided yet where that level is going to fall? I suppose it's a given that G-Level will trump it, but will it trump C-Level, or will it fall between C-Level and S-Level? Thanks in advance for any reply you may give!

Anything that is official Star Wars merchandise is sent to Licensing for approval at various stages of development. At each stage, Licensing can either approve it as is, approve it with specified changes, or disapprove it. Continuity is only one factor of several in determining whether a submission is approved or disapproved, though continuity is usually the only aspect that I am looking at. Things are often disapproved because they don't fit within continuity. Oftentimes folks will run things by me for a general "does this fit within continuity" discussion prior to the official approval process to get an idea of whether they are headed in the right direction. When things don't exactly fit within continuity, I'm always looking for ways to tweak things to make it fit if possible. And yes, sometimes this means deliberate retconning or allowances to meet the expectations of the medium.

Tasty, as I've understood it, content creators give Licencing a preview of the product they are going to create, and testing is done after its completion to insure that the criteria promised in the preview are met.
But does this mean that Licencing has the power to deny approval to the product if the criteria aren't met? And if so, has this any impact on whether the product is released for purchase or not?
I'm just trying to understand whether Licencing just provides help with continuity for product developers while finding ways to make it all fit togheter afterwards, or if it has any actual power to refuse products to preserve continuity.

Tasty, another question: Lately there was a discussion about whether the LAAT/i is capable of flying in vacuum or not. There are some conflicting sources, one that says it's not capable (not sealed) and the other (Clone Wars) shows them starting from space above Muunilinst. Now what source is the right one? Or were the LAAT/is improved for spacejourneys?
Not to mention a comic showing LAATs battling it out in space. LAATs can be sealed to operate in the vacuum in space, but the standard LAAT is not equipped for long-distance space travel, though there is a variation that is.

In The Glove of Darth Vader, Grand Moff Hissa and Trioculus travel to (Mon) Calamari in an unnamed spaceship which can go underwater. Could this be the same as the moffship featured in later Jedi Prince books?

They specifically call each other "brother" and "sister" in the comic, so they are definitely siblings, possibly fraternal twins.

Yeah, good to hear that you have fun doing this job. Oh, if I only could get a quick look at this thing...
But I want to renew my last question and add a new one:
Is there any specific name for one of Farfallas Knights from Jedi vs. Sith (except for Lirondo)? At least I would like to get to know a name for the winged envoy and maybe her species.
The other question: Is it possible that Sladak and Slatka are twins? If not - are they even brother and sister or only cousins?
Thanks for your time, Tasty!

Since we're still missing some Droids episodes on dvd, I'd like to know some official names from 'The Trigon Unleashed' episode.
- Threepio says that R2 is hanging like a *Magnetic Poluvian Rat*? Is that correct?
- Is the forest where the Trigon One is hidden the *Jarl Forest*?
I just can't understand them correctly and I don't have original subtitles on my VHS tapes.

Leland is fairly busy, so answering questions here is really only a secondary concern. Remember, he doesn't have to do this, it's more a favor to fans.
Additionally, your question was rather complicated, so don't expect Leland to get back to you straight away.

Patricia Wrede's episode III novelization says that the Jedi kept the peace for two thousand years prior to the clone wars. Simon Beecroft's Beware the Dark Side says that the Sith remained in hiding for two thousand years prior to episode I. Are both of these books mistakenly placing the Battle of Ruusan at 2000 BBY? It seems weird that two unrelated books would both make the same mistake, so if they're not in error what are they referring to?

Taste, just thought I'd ask--
Are we any closer to seeing the last round of WTS winners posted? I figure since the winning entries have to pass by your desk, you might have a bit of insight. We're dying out here from the anticipation, man!

Tasty.
I know, I know, if a VIP doesn't answer your question it has got a reason. But it doesn't feel good to be ignored.
My English is not the best and it may be a silly question. But it's the first time for me to ask you something and I must confess I'm very disappointed.
So please. If there's a reason, please tell me.

God bless you, Taste
I really hope I can attend C:V, whenever it might be. I wish it were closer to the Midwest rather than the money-hole that is LA.
I shall continue to dream!
