+Can we get some real armament figures for these ships (and MC80's)?
The stats we already have are what we intend to stick with.+

so even though the precursor, the Venator has explict references to its flank guns and smaller guns the Imperial Star Destroyer armament is going to continue to be homogeneous? (despite not matching the numbers to the model, like the ISD II having 50 heavy turbolasers but 64 barrels???) odd...

so does that make the flank turbolasers on the ISD XX-9's even though XX-9's are the medium quad guns in boxes similar to the deathstar turbolasers? what is the purpose of the huge flank guns then...

And what goes in the blank timeline spaces of the Film Only universe - can we never know the history or background of that Star Wars universe like we can in the EU Star Wars universe?
Nothing. That's why it's film only.

Are there any Hailfire Droids in ROTS?
Not to my knowledge. Might be debris in the background +some+place.

character played by Jake Lloyd's sister in TPM, doe she have an official name?
No.

Who created the G,C,S,N canon hierarchy?
I did, when I created the Holocron after internal discussions.

Since its initial creation, has the canonical hierarchy ever been updated to include new levels, or to change which parts fits in which category?
Yes to both. Early on, several things like juvenile fiction and games were going to all be considered S continuity, but it eventually became easier to just classify all new works as C. I didn't want the difference between S and C to be an arbitrary subjective opinion on my part.

If the answer to question number 2 is yes, who authorised this change?
I've always had autonomy with the Holocron.

Can we get some real armament figures for these ships (and MC80's)?
The stats we already have are what we intend to stick with.

What's the canon status of toys?
C-canon except for the Lego alternate constructions which I rarely note in the Holocron. It's intereresting to note that even in the early days, Kenner's Imperial troop transport appeared in comics.

Who is the 5th character sitting at the table in the Cantina
I have no idea to whom you are referring.

Does this mean that if a C-canon source contains a little snippet of canon-contradictory information, this little snippet is simply disregarded from the entry detailing the topic in question?
Correct as the other posters have said, and the contradiction is noted in the Continuity Notes.

is the Holocron a bit lax on contradictions?
There can always be room for exceptions.

From what I understand, not exactly. Individual entries are given an entry in their canon field, but this is largely a convenience for sorting. While just fine for clear-cut cases, the real nuts-and-bolts information on a subject's place in canon are covered by the Continuity Notes field, which takes individual sources into account when needed.
And this is where people go to find out what to retcon next. I see.

I'm glad to hear it. I was under the impression that inconsistencies were undesirable, but largely unimportant because the Holocron tracked all "real" Canon for use by product creators internally.

For example: It has been established that lightsaber creation requires Force-sensitivity. Yet in KotOR, the technological genious Suvam Tan in orbit above Yavin 4 created a lightsaber without showing hint of sensitivity.

Perhaps not the best example. While I, Jedi shows that Jedi lightsabers require Jedi skills, particularly in the creation of super-efficient power cells, other sources reveal that creating lightsaber-like technology is doable by those without sensitivity. For instance, young Tapani nobles (including those without Force sensitivity) were able to create less efficient lightfoils by studying old caches of lightsabers formerly belonging to Jedi of House Pelagia. Perhaps Tan found a similar method.

Let's bombard th guy with more before he has had a chance to answer the last batch.

If I have understood things right, the Holocron contains information sorted by entries. These entries constitute Canon, not the individual source, regardless of the source's place in the Canon hierarchy.

Would the Holocron's "Ligthsaber" or "Lightsaber creation" entry simply disregard this, and go with manistream C-canon?
In other words, is the Holocron a bit lax on contradictions?

Mr. Chee, another one for you. Who is the 5th character sitting at the table in the Cantina in 'ANH' with Hem Dazon, Bom Vimdin, 'Brainiac' and Arleil Shous? Is that really Trinto Duaba or is it 'Kelbo' / 'Kelnor' from the HS?

Does thus character have an official name and what is his species?

nope nothing to do with indiana or illinios or anything, an unfortunate side effect of internet naming 'Evil Jedi' was taken a long time ago and I just stuck to using a few extra letters ever since.

What's the canon status of toys? For example, some of Hasbro's clone troopers are assigned to unique squads and battalions - are those names canon? And there are also older vehicles that don't appear elsewhere in canon (the Armored Scout Tank for example) and even LEGO has come up with a few new vehicles. Would it be a case of canon unless contradicted somehow elsewhere?

Holy crap.

(Okay, uhm, mildly off-topic.)

"Eville_Jedi" . . . Does that happen to be referring to "Eville" as in "Evansville, Indiana?"

Does it still make sense to say that an Imperial Star Destroyer has 60 XX-9 guns? The movie model obviously has 8 big turrets and two large quads (same problem with the ISD II). Can we get some real armament figures for these ships (and MC80's)? The databank has no information in the sidebar and the information in the text is inconsistent with the movie models

Why do the following ships, Tartan, assault frig mk II and broadside have very large sizes? Excluding another reference the ships were scaled in the game to be easily viewable not 1:1 scale (petroglyphs website shows an image comparing the broadside to a tie fighter and the ship is way smaller than 500m) just curious where the number came from is all...

the Imperial Sourcebook for the roleplaying game, multiple in universe references say there are 25,000 star destroyers in the imperial fleet, does this mean a mix of Venators, Victories, ISD I/II's and other ships or simply that Palpantine had 25,000 ISD I/II?

Thx Mr. Chee for pointing out these issues. It has once more proven the failure of many to blindly believe everything that is written on certain sites (like Red6).

Hi Tasty - sorry, another continuity question.

I'm a little confused about the differences between the two official Star Wars continuities of Films Only and Films + EU; since both continuities are bound by the films, surely they're almost exactly the same with the only difference between them being that one has no extra details outside of the films, and the other does? Since any additional details created in the Film Only universe (like the upcoming Star Wars TV series by George Lucas) automatically carry across into the Films + EU universe as G-canon, does that mean there will never be any actual deviation between the two? What exactly are the differences in each universe's storylines? And what goes in the blank timeline spaces of the Film Only universe - can we never know the history or background of that Star Wars universe like we can in the EU Star Wars universe?

Many thanks!

Is the Ewok village we see in "Marooned" (Tales 22) supposed to be Bright Tree Village and are the featured Ewoks the ones we know from RotJ?
That's certainly the intent, though it's not set in stone.

Is "Star Wars: Demoiliton" canon? Especially concerning the appearances of Aurra Sing and Darth Maul.
For the most part, no, but there are certainly elements that are part of continuity. Aurra Sing's true story between the time of her imprisonment on Oovo 4 in the Jedi: Aayla Secura comic and Tempest has yet to be revealed. Darth Maul's appearance in this game and in the Tony Hawk game is non-continuity.

Is the Corporate Alliance Fantail ship that appears in Labyrinth of Evil this ship that's on the Corporate Alliance's Behind the Scenes Page in the Databank?
Yes.

Are they Holonet News articles dated off a 12 month calander or the old 10 month calander?
12-month, though the absence of articles in the 11th and 12th months was, I think, a conscious decision, possibly coupled with an unintentional mistake.

TT do you have a better picture of the Holwuff
No.

Is the Liquidator that features heavily in Star Wars Missions the same Star Destroyer mentioned in Hero's Trial?
Yes.

is there some kind of entry on the background character played by Nathan Hamill
I'll add it as an unnamed character. If a name hasn't gone to Lucasfilm for approval, it's not official.

Is the Aleenan Senator Bogg Tyrell the widow of Ratts Tyerell
They're unrelated. Unused text for the Attack of the Clones Movie Scrapbook had intended to point out this fact.

is it at all possible that Brianna's adventures with her could still be canon?
Maybe.

Could you please either confirm or deny that either this is Bane or. if not, do they have a name?
Not yet named.

what, if anything, is your opinion on the solid-state hologram Maul from Phantom Menaces in Tales 17?
Non-continuity.

This guy is often identified as Ariq Joanson, a character from "Tales of the Mos Eisley Cantina"
The Holocron does not have visual reference for Ariq.
