VERY MINOR THE FORCE UNLEASHED SPOILER

So . . . given that Vader uses the Executor at least
3 years prior to ANH (based on the dates and time
spans given in the TFU graphic novel by Blackman),
are we to assume that there'll be some kind of new
retcon to explain how it exists then, yet is still
being constructed during the Classic SW series
shortly after ANH? Just a rather long construction
time?

Nathan, I don't see that this is a problem, per se. Consider the now-lengthed construction of the Death Star. It would make sense that something of that size would take quite a while to truly complete.

There are two six month gaps.

There's a six month gap while Starkiller is in "rehab" and another six months, according to the comic, between his "return" from rehab and when they find the person they are looking for once he is out of rehab. The novel doesn't mention a large time gap the second time, but the comic explicitly says 6 months for each gap.

So unless each story portion is only about a day long, which they aren't, and the end is right at the very, very end of 2 BBY, which it isn't, then the story has to be mostly in 3 BBY. If anything, it might actually start in 4 BBY, depending on how long each actual "action' segment (the segments pre-rehab, post-rehab, and post-discovery of that person) are.

This is only correct if the year changes during the 6 months Starkiller is in the rehab. Personally I think the events take place only in 2 BBY.

A quick confirmation:

TFU ends during the year 2 BBY, as noted in the comic and some other obvious event ties.

In the comic, there are two jumps of 6 months each.

So, the TFU novel, comic, and game, actually mostly take place in the year 3 BBY, and the story covers a bit more than a year, overall, correct?

Coruscant Nights II Spoilers - read at your peril

Tasty, what's the Holocron's view on Captain Typho's death in SoS - and Galaxies' canonicity? From what I understand, Galaxies has always been stated to be C-canon, yet now we have a novel blatantly contradict it in such a way that means no resolution won't demean one of them. It's seems pointless to have things like Galaxies continue to be C-canon when other, 'trendier' sources like SoS and The Force Unleashed can greatly contradict them.

End spoiler

I was wondering if it can be confirmed that BlasTech Industries made the DC-series of weapons for the Clone Troopers. They made the DC-15s Side Arm blaster and the DC-17m Interchangeable Weapon System but did they also made the more regular models? I just can't find a source that confirms this.

Must we really consider Visions of the Blade is an infinities ? There's no contradiction with EU, after all. And it's presented like a metaphysical experience, only accessible for those who are Force Sensitive ; it is not as if the battles in Soulcalibur IV really happened : they were sorts of dreams, werent they ? So, why not consider this funny story is in the continuity ?

< The Visual Guide still exist somewhere ... They promised to get them online but I've been waiting for that moment since SW.com had changed. The Visual Guides were the best thing ever to come to SW.com

It's just so sad that they can't seem to continue :(

Leland:

You're just linking that page so we can see that totally sweet Corroney pic of you as a Jedi. ;-)

Interesting article. I'm guessing the portrait behind your desk mentioned in the beginning of the article is the WotC piece from the Power of the Jedi Sourcebook?

I was surprised to learn a fifth of all SW merchandise has been sold since '06. Given the merchandising blitzes that followed each of the movies, let alone the sheer difference in the amount of time before and after that year, that's incredible.

Hey mr Chee.
Maybe it's the wrong place for ths question, but do you have any information about the Visual Guides on starwars.com? I can't find them anywhere on the site anymore :(

They have sooo much more to cover.

Please don't tell me they have been cancelled:_|

Awesome article! But one question--and you should have seen this coming--does your Jedi have a name? :p

And no, that's the starwars.com databank you're seeing in the Wired video, not the actual Holocron.

Mr. Chee, my question for you concerns IG-88, and the nature of his appearances. Specifically, I am interested in the sources that IG-88A appears in. I got these sources for IG-88A off the Wookieepedia page, where I am also a member. Anyway, could you confirm that it is A in all of these sources and tell me if I've missed any? The appearances are listed as follows. Thank you.
Therefore I Am: The Tale of IG-88
LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (Non-canonical appearance)
Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption
Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (As Death Star II) (Retcon)
Star Wars 85: The Hero
A Barve Like That: The Tale of Boba Fett
The Bounty Hunters: Kenix Kil
Young Jedi Knights: Delusions of Grandeur
Young Jedi Knights: Diversity Alliance

*Oh and what kind of Droids are the ones that were triggered by Ahsoka when she reached the Shield Generator on Christophsis? *

If it's the ones I'm thinking about the trading cards call them Retail Droids.

* Whorm Loathsome's cute assistant Droid?

What's it look like?

Mr. Chee,
The upcoming Ultimate Star Wars Graphic Novel Library TPBs have some stories from Star Wars Tales. Due to their inclusion in the series, does that make them canon? What about *Luke Skywalker, Last Hope for the Galaxy*'s inclusion of *Falling Star*?
