You renounce the Sith beliefs, take a Sith name, and then have the nerve to say Caedus hasn't earned his name because he's not "Sith" enough?

Tsk, tsk.

I think youre onto something there "Dark Lord Caedus"..... And between Bane and Palps they WERE trying to seize control, But doing it in a very conniving way , and the newer sith may as well be another brotherhood.... and my name... It just sounds good IMO, I renounce both the Jedi and the Sith beliefs, as IMO they are too hypocritical

being a sith is holding a certain set of ideals, that those with power not only have the right but the duty to rule those weaker. That the force makes you a better and wiser person(the jedi follow that too btw), thats what makes a sith. Jacen mostly fits these ideas and combined with his direct sith lineage makes him the Dark Lord Caedus

*he has not tried to seize ALL power,
and is not trying to eliminate the Jedi order. and
IMO these are main keys to becoming a REAL sith...*

None of the Sith between Bane and Sidious tried to seize power, nor did they try to eliminate the Jedi Order. The current Sith order on Korriban hasn't done either of these things either. Does that mean that none of those people are "real" Sith. Was Sidious not really a Sith until he began seizing power after being elected? Or was it not until he tried to eliminate the Order by issuing Order 66?

Have you tried to take control of the galaxy? Have you tried to kill the Jedi? What have you done to "earn" the name "Darth Exodus"?

i very much agree with you techie, and as i mentionedi n a locked thread, IMO the main problem with teh LOTF series is the narrowness in character development, I mean, we haven't seen much of anyone outside of the Luke Skywalker immediate family and Stupid Jacen...We need more of the characters that made the NJO a great series.... And not a Fake sith who just took on the name so the authors would have something to sell on.... I think it's sad that they gave Jacen a sith name, IMO he really does not deserve it, as he has not really done anything too sith like, I.e> he has not tried to seize ALL power, and is not trying to eliminate the Jedi order. and IMO these are main keys to becoming a REAL sith... Anakin did not have it until his duel with Obi-wan, when he declares that the jedi are EVIL... I have not heard such a statement from this "Caedus" (NOT an earned name IMO)

I'm starting to wonder about quality of this series. It's so darn inconsistent! We got characters acting like a different character every book. And I still find it messed up why Jacen had to be come a Sith Lord. He messed up the GA worse than it was. And we've already heard this story in the prequel trilogy. Maybe GL just wants them to write it so bad so we get out of his sw universe...
And I remember reading an interview about this series, "No one like to see their favorite characters die from old age or something that not interesting." Why not? Luke, Leia, Han, and Mara I thought deserved it. Just let new characters take their places and let the old ones have a happy ending. Just cause it's star wars doesn't mean it has to be dramatic all the time like a soap opera.

What about the "Dark Man"? Does anyone think that it could be Jacen from the future? I'm thining it's posible he could have amplified his force time-walk powers? Your thoughts?

Wookieepedia already announced who Jacen kills to become a sith lord... and that it's not Han. Let's just say, Luke's going to be mighty pissed for a while. You're also wrong about Lumiya and how she works... as well as dies.

My theory about Darth Krayt is that he's not a darth yet, and is most likely Jacen's new apprentice.

What he is doing now is trying to bend the Force, use
it as a tool, a bag of tricks. The exact opposite of
what he was doing in TUF, and so Sith like.

If you go back to the beginning of the NJO, it was Anakin Solo who believed the force was a tool. Jacen would argue with him constantly.

I agree with another poster who said that Jacen has been remolded in the last 5-6 books be something he wasn't.

Now that we are (nearly) half way through the Legacy of the Force series, it would be interesting to hear people's views on how it will all play out. Here are my thoughts, from Sacrifice till the bitter end :

  • Jacen will kill Han as his sacrifice and become a fully fledged Sith Lord
  • Led by Jacen, the Galactic Alliance will turn against the Jedi and send them into exile
  • Jacen then learns of the new Sith Order, and realises that he is no more than a pawn in
Lumiya's plans to destroy the Skywalkers and Solos and bring the Sith back to power
  • Jacen kills Lumiya and goes after the new Sith, but some of them (including Darth Krayt)
escape and go into hiding
  • the series ends with Leia and Luke confronting Jacen, Leia sacrifices herself to kill Jacen...
the Jedi return to Coruscant and order is returned to the galaxy....for now....

Something to think about.......... The last book in Legacy of the Force takes place in 42 ABY,
if the authors keep with the projected timeline it will be the fifteenth anniversary of the death of Anakin Solo.

It seems to me that Jacen is justifying his actions for two reasons...
1. The greater good
2. TUF
The greater good because he has his heart set on creating peace once and for all no matter the cost. TUF because he has ambition to overthrow his uncle and show the world that there is no darkside and be done with old fashion ways of looking at the force. Vergere told him that there wasnt a darkside to the force that there are only people with dark in them. But its obvious that even if your a good person and you cross that line the force does something to you...instead of controlling it, it also in a way starts controlling you. too much of something is bad. Im thinking his sacrifice is probably going to be his soul more than the person he kills.

and for some reason I think of when jacen wanted to talk to his grandfather about the darkside. I think it was in bloodlines and then in the episode III book when anakin realizes the final creulty of the sith is now he only has himself to rely on. Unless Jacen wakes up, history will repeat itself shich isn't good for his relationship with his family and Tenel Ka.

He is so blinded by Force Tricks and simple logical reasoning, that he has forgotten how to listen to the Force.

Ironic, after his God-Mode moment in the TUF where he succumbed to the will of the Force.

What he is doing now is trying to bend the Force, use it as a tool, a bag of tricks. The exact opposite of what he was doing in TUF, and so Sith like.

Jacen will probably pressure Lumiya for the force phantom trick. That seems to be Jacen's thing, learning force tricks. He really likes his emotion cloak of his. Several force phantoms at once is pretty impressive feat done by Lumiya, depending on how much concentration and hold on the force they take.

Where is this from? Anone?

It's from Betrayal . . . Luke has the vision right before he battles the Force phantom of Jacen towards the end of the book, it starts with Luke looking into the eyes of a mynock with unusual intelligence.
