It could be worth asking Tasty Taste and/or SithScribe in this thread:

Thanks! That's pretty interesting... Do things like that statement of George's have any bearing on continuity?

In answer to a question from the general questions thread here, the references to the Whills in current material released with RotS include:

First - the screenplay itself - scene 222, yoda talking to Qui-Gon (deleted from the final movie):
+The ability to defy oblivion can be achieved but only for oneself. It was accomplished by a Shaman of the Whills..."

Secondly, page 72 of the Making of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith

George remarks to Rob Coleman that the story of Star Wars is actually recounted by R2-D2 to the Keeper of the Whills, one hundred years after Return of the Jedi. Journal of the Whills is what Lucas titled his first outline of Star Wars back in 1972.

should i read the Clone Wars novels before reading
the novelization of ep 3?

Wouldn't hurt, but it's not necessary.

The only two I would consider somewhat necessary before reading Stover's novel are Shatterpoint (Stover's prior Clone Wars novel, and where some of Mace's perspective in the Ep. III novel comes from) and Labyrinth of Evil which leads directly into the events of Episode III.

I personally think this would be a good time for suspension of nitpicking. No one's trying to argue that Obi-Wan's padawan braid really switches sides mysteriously, or that there are really potatoes and shoes and shaaks flying around in asteroid belts. I don't see why this is a bigger deal than any of that.

Comparing the Tantive IV in ROTS to the Tantive IV of ANH, there appears to be more than just cosmetic differences between them- there seems to be somewhat significant structural changes to the ship that imply it wasn't merely refitted.

And since ther other Corellian Corvettes of the OT era are of the ANH-model, it implies the ANH-style is not just a modified design but an actual production model.

So, was Tantive IV replaced by a newer ship and they just kept the name for some reason without modifying the numbering, or was it somehow completely rebuilt from scratch?

And I guess it's probably too late to make the ROTS ship the Tantive III, huh? ;)

So you would operate under the assumption that ROTS begins on 16:5:19?

Sounds like a good assumption to me.

Tasty- Any forthcoming sources that provide any specific dates for the events in ROTS using the system used by HNN and GNN? (ie- 13:5:23)

Not that I am aware of. When we started setting up the Clone Wars program, we wanted to convey the idea that the Clone Wars were taking place in "real time" and so the three year wait in between Eps II and III would equate to the three year span of the Clone Wars. Note that the 19 BBY timeline position for Ep III was not quite set in stone at that time.

Reference only in the post Order 66 Senate scene; he has nothing to say.

In contrast he is in the screenplay a few times with one line in one place - but I think that scene has been deleted (boy I wish I could find The Making Of ... it has a list of the deleted scenes).

I just realized something. Jar Jar appears nowhere in the Jr. novelization. Is he in the regular book?

Now that you've read the book, do you recognize things in the trailers and TV Spots? I've finished the first chapter and I recognize all the space battle stuff, like Obi-Wan being surrounded by battle droids, and the giant doors slamming shut.

What can we say? It's a decision that only you can make: I for one want to know everything I can before going in (I've now added the VD to my novelisation and illustarted screenplay - still can't find The Making Of though) - but there are others who don't want to know anything. Only you can decide what is right for you.
