Oh, ok, thanks.
Maybe Sue will have some new informations (fingers crossed) ;)

Also if it were to happen it would be a seperate contract from the upcoming one. We might also see a series with the upcoming animated series as well but has not been discussed. Personally I would love this cause we could potentially get 4 different contracts, the live action, the animated series, the upcoming contract, and the scholastic contract as well and possibly a 5th contract with video game tie-ins like RC and TFU. I'm sure Sue will have updates for us soon enough. I hope that helps you out

Sue, real quick question. I know you can't discuss books in the upcoming contract and I don't want you too. However I was wondering if you could tell me if if there is still a block by Lucas on the character of Padme. I remember one of the VIP's stated she wasn't to be used due to her role in the upcoming clone wars series so I was curious if you guys are allowed to use her. I see the potential for some good poltical thrillers if she can be used.

Dalsk this question was actually brought up back in June. Sue said it was definitely a possibility but it hadn't been discussed at that time.

Hi, I'm kinda new here (in this forum) and I have a question for Sue, I don't know if this has been asked before. If it was, I'm sorry :)

With the "live" series coming on 2009, can we expect some books based upon the episodes or some others stories in the same period, like we had for the Clone Wars (the animated series, books and comics) ?

Sue, do you have a synopsis ready for +LotF #8: Revelation+? I haven't seen any, and the book will come out in a month and a few day. Or do you prefer us to have the surprise at the last moment?

Sue, I wanted to ask you. From what you can tell, is the Clone Wars going to happen this year or next? I'm asking since, I see that the Force Unleashed is now delayed till the summer months?

Maybe I'm missing something, but what does does a delayed video game have to do with a TV series?

VIPs, I'm not sure to whom to address this, so I
thought I'd start here.

I haven't been to thrilled with the my Hyperspace
membership for a while now. All we've been getting
for a while is reprints of stuff from old books and
comics. I can easily go back into my library of SW
books and find all of this stuff. Where's the new,
exclusive content that we are supposed to be getting?
At this rate my subscription will run out before
anything NEW is posted. Since my son enjoys reading
the Insider I think I'll just let my Hyperspace
account lapse and get the Insider instead. You're
just not making Hyperspace worth my hard earned money.

The VIP's (for the most part) have nothing to do with Hyperspace (or the rest of starwars.com for that matter). I would suggest you place your complaint in either the Hyperspace Forum or e-mail Lucas Online. Otherwise the people you are trying to address will never see it.

I received my e-mail this evening from Amazon (US) to approve my preorder for the Force Unleashed book delay until 6/26/08. So I think that is the "new" release date for the book and the game will likely be out around that same time.

Hello Miss Rostoni.
I wonder if you can tell us all when Force Unleashed is coming out? I know you said it may be delayed, but now a release schedule has come out saying the novel and the game is still coming out in March, and Amazon UK still says its due out in March as well.
Also, could you please tell me when it comes out on PS2, because that's the only games conosle I have that its out on.

Hello folks!
This is my first post in TOS forums, so please be friendly! My English is not the best because I'm a fourteen-years-old from Germany.:)
Sue,
I liked the idea of a EU artbook and I would prefer James Luceno and Matthew Stover to write Star Wars novels in the future.
Some time ago you said there were plans for LotF e-books but they were cancelled. I just wanted to say that it would be cool if you return to these plans.

I would imagine so... otherwise the EU would be full of moments where characters just pose while giant disembodied heads hover behind them. :p

You made me laugh out loud. :) Actually, I'm still laughing, as I try to come up with a witty followup. But I can't do it! Your post said it all.

B-)

It feels very eerie to have a private discussion with someone one minute, and see the image posted the next!

What's eerie to me is that my comrades at another site were discussing this as the possible cover back in november.

Sue, could you tell us if this image has been chosen to become the cover of Luke and the Shadows of Mindor or if it is an invention of some fans at TF.N?

It's one that's being looked at as far as concept goes. I was suprised to see it posted because I had only emailed with Del Rey earlier that day, considering this art as a possible direction the cover might take. It feels very eerie to have a private discussion with someone one minute, and see the image posted the next! I know this was just coincidence, but really, it's eerie. So, while this hasn't been chosen to become the cover of the Luke book, the idea is one that appeals to us.

Has it been officially confirmed that when a cover contradicts a novel or other C-canon, then the C-canon takes presedence?

Covers are covers. Yeah, sometimes they depict a scene in the book, sometimes they don't. Sometimes the elements are correct, sometimes they aren't. It's an artist's interpretation of something the artist hasn't read. The author can offer suggestions, etc., but sometimes the author hasn't finished writing the book yet. If you look at books in the bookstore, the covers, more often than not, don't have much to do with what's going on inside the book. With SW, we've tried to get covers to stay true to what's happening inside, but it's rarely completely possible. I think we've done a very, very good job with our covers in conveying the sense and feeling of the books. Personally, I don't think covers should be cannon at all...... an exception might be when an EU character who has never been seen before shows up on a cover, then we'd use that as future reference... but people need to be realistic about these things.

Sue,

I would love to see a new X Wing Series or even a book. With Ben Skywalker and Syal Antilles, Valin Horn and Doran Tainer, any hope we could see that or is the X Wing series not in Del Rey contract?

so id really like to see more of him Troy Denning in the future.

Me too.

There's not much I can say about future storylines because it's all being planned now. We're seriously looking at some new authors who I won't name, and inviting back some of the old favorites. It's all up in the air, so if I ignore some of your questions it's because I don't have anything solid at the moment, other than that the books will continue....
