There should be an opinion poll of all the ideas I've seen mentioned on here from time to time. Several times I've seen "a Padme book," "a SW PI novel with a PI actually doing PI work," "filling in the gaps that got left out of the last series," and "Padme's descendants going back to Naboo and finding out more about her."
Did I leave anything out? It would be interesting to see all of these in an online poll and see which turned out to be the most popular.
Maybe I should just go to TFN and post one...

True Vanda...though I have to admit to not really wanting to hear more from Jacen so much as just having Luke, Leia and Ben find more about their lost relatives in a "peaceful" manner.
More like...
Luke: whistles I'm calling a Crisis Timeout! Let's take a brief vacation and go say hello to my mom's side of the family! Wanna come, son and sis?

It's certainly something that could fit in the intervening years between the DN trilogy and LOTF. It might be interesting to see Jacen having some convos with relatives of Padme's that may have known young Anakin Skywalker and can regale him with tales of how great he was and how his fall happened. Maybe show Jacen thinking that Anakin was foolish or selfish and that he could've avoided such mistakes. You know, sowing more seeds.

Something fellow fan Thunder brought up in our Outcast thread has me wondering..
Has there ever been any thoughts into letting Luke, Ben, Leia and the family take some time out of saving the galaxy and go seek out Padme's relatives on Naboo.
I'm wondering if LFL/Del Rey just haven't found a way for it to happen yet or if there's something that stops it from happening.
Since the Dark Nest where Artoo revealed the backstory, the characters have mentioned now knowing about some prequel events and they now know about Padme.
Curious if perhaps a stand alone or perhaps somewhere within a series like Fate of the Jedi, Luke could take a "crisis timeout" with his son with possibly Leia and other Solos to meet their long lost relatives and find out more about Padme.
IMO, it would be fun for a lot of readers.

I figured that the new cover for Rebel Force sounded like what you described FOTJ as being 'iconic' and less of a painting.
Yes, that's true. The Rebel Force cover is somewhat similar to the Fate of the Jedi cover design. The SW logo will be in the usual place across the top of the book, and the cover art design will be a bit different... but the same general feeling.

Yes, this is part of the plan. A novel will come out sometime around the game release time and that's all that's been determined so far. I'll let you know as things develop.
Oh, thank goodness. I'm not really much of a gamer and I was pretty bummed that I was going to be missing out on this exciting new era in SW history. But, this helps a lot.
I breathe a sigh of relief.

Great news! I hope that the author feels free to change things as necessary to adhere to EU continuity, as opposed to only the game.
A lot of fans were very unhappy with the plotholes and contradictions to the greater EU in TFU. Sean Williams might have been able to create a sounder story that fit in with the EU better if he'd chosen to +not +adhere so closely to the game.
With the time setting of The Old Republic, continuity may be far less of an issue, but it's probably a good idea in general for authors to remember that video games are written and designed for the greater gaming community and SW movie fans, not for the relatively smaller EU community, who expect, if not the games, then at least the novels and comics to follow the historicity that's already been established.

Sue, thanks alot for the super quick response. You know that stroyline is very good, and unfortunately, I don't have the time to clock in all those insane hours on a PC game like my buddy does. I would hope that you guys plan on releasing a novel or two on that area of the PC game. At least my fears are calmed down

DarkSpork -- Thanks for the info, I will definitely remember to use that little code next time!
Thanks, Sue, for the clarification. I figured that the new cover for Rebel Force sounded like what you described FOTJ as being 'iconic' and less of a painting. Thanks for the info though, every little bit counts.

*Blood Oath cover will look something like the new Rebel Force cover. It seems to fit the description Sue gave us of the new covers for FOTJ. *
BLOOD OATH is not part of the FotJ series, so it'll have a different look. [I didn't check the link btw.}

*Sue, could you clear this up if you have time? *
The plan for the Fate of the Jedi books is to have a main character on the cover as well as a secondary character. The design concepts we saw showed just the one character -- I haven't seen a final concept for OUTCAST yet.

S1th'ari, if a URL is particularly long, it's a good idea to use the board code to make it a link. Otherwise it stretches out the screen - this time it's not too annoying, but sometimes that can be a real pain. The board coding is pretty simple, and you can learn it here.
Vong1116, Given the success of the TFU novel, I'd be very surprised if we didn't see at least one TOR tie-in of some type. There was that 'untitled game novel' floating around, after all.

Sue,
I am troubled by the news that was released on October 21, 2008 reference the Old Republic video game. Though I loved both KOTOR 1 and 2 and played almost 93 hours, between the two, I feel that with this PC only, MMO I'm going to be left out of the story. The thing is I don't have the time, nor the type of income to be paying every month to play an online never ending game. The story, which appears to be excellent, will be one that I will unfortunately miss. Will you guys consider doing something with Del Rey/Dark Horse so that us unfortunate souls that don't play MMO's don't miss out on the epic story?
