Del Rey is working on it right now. We've seen a couple of concept pieces and have sent it back for further modifications. So it is coming along.

Qui Gon knew about it and even he couldn't fully do it.
Right, Qui-Gon learned only the audible portion... The idea is that Qui-Gon, Yoda, and Obi-Wan worked together during those intervening 18 years or so to get the ghost body appear.

On that topic, can we assume its now general Jedi knowledge of the ability to dissapear into the Force?
I would think the average Jedi would know that the ability exists, but it's not something the average Jedi can do -- maybe the instructions are out there, but being able to master the technique is another matter.

Yeah it was REALLY good. Karen Traviss is one of the SW authors that you don't just read the book, you savor it. Except it's so good you have to read it as fast as possible to find out what happens! I like Kal Skirata more and more each time he's in the story, even though he's supposed to be a bad guy. Too bad we have to wait a whole year for the next book!  |

whills that this ability was found? how about the
masters from like 25, 000 years before that?
That's why I said rediscovered. Yoda didn't know about it before Qui-Gon found it, meaning it was lost, and only Yoda and Obi-Wan appeared as Force Ghosts as a result - Anakin did because he was the Chosen One, I believe. Luke probably found notes about it in Obi-Wan's hut, and spread the word.

Sue,
Just finished True Colors. Loved it! I have to say that The Clone Wars was not a particular favorite time period of mine until about a year ago when I picked up Hard Contact, than I was hooked! Looking forward to Order 66. Even though it is the last book in the series  I hope it will not be the last novel that Karen Traviss writes for Lucasfilm LTD and the Star Wars franchise.:D |

Then that's a mistake, considering it was made extremely clear that Qui-Gon was the first to re-discover the ability, as he was the one who told Yoda, and no Force Ghosts had been appearing prior, so no one knew about the ability. If Qui-Gon was the first, then how could Vergere have known?
problem there is that a) we don't know when Qui Gon learned it. (as we know it wasn't upon death.) and b) I'm pretty sure there was some time after his death but before she got picked up by the Vong that she might have discovered it as well. Hell, she might have even learned it during the NJO timeline in her brief time with the Jedi after Jacen and her escaped.

Those are great, and the Lumiya pics in particular are awesome!! They went with her post-Jedi outfit from Marvel and it looks good! Definitely hope to see more Lumiya stories (pre-LOTF) in the future...
