Just a note of thanks to Mr. Denning on this the day that Inferno comes out. Also, big thanks to Sue for keeping us up-to-date with drool-generating details. I'm so happy to have new Star Wars to read!

Given that there will be an audio adaptation of The Force Unleashed novelization next hear, has anyone heard if Random House Audio is considering producing any other audiobooks of non-+LOTF+ novels like the Darth Bane sequel, the Death Star book, or the planned Coruscant Nights trilogy?

I'm seeing more gaming stuff advertised through Hyperspace (I suppose I need to break down and get it sometime, though as someone interested in only the short stories, I still think it's overpriced). I'm rather hoping that some of the things like the Darkstryder short stories will make it over there, as well.

I was also wondering about the Living Force campaign. It's hard to make heads or tails of the whole thing without the early short stories and adventures available to read anywhere. Why does WOTC have the later ones but not the earliest ones on their site? And if they don't want them, do you think maybe the Official Site might want to post them?

Anyway, with all these WEG reprint things on the Official Site, it would be nice if we could see some of these (if not all) on the site as well (as a special treat to us oldies who do own most of the original WEGs already) ;) Any chance of this happening sometime in the future?

Old question again, which comes up every year or so... In my annual hunt for the old, retired Living Force modules, I came upon the following comment by then-author Morrie Mullins from 2004:

*"Given how the early contracts were written, that's releasing the now-retired Years 1 and 2 LF modules for non-RPGA play / usevery unlikely. For modules starting in year 3, WotC can pretty much do whatever they want with them (in terms of re-releasing) because of a change in how contracts were written."
"As far as it goes, I'd gladly sign away my rights to be paid for a
re-release of the early modules, if it would get them back out there and allow people to see them, and since I wrote or co-wrote 17 of the modules released in years 1 and 2 (not counting interactives), that would take care of the bulk of their contractual costs. I didn't write them for the money, after all. As long as my name stayed on all the mods I wrote (except maybe "Something Uffel"...) I'd be satisfied."*

I was reading the old thread and I found this:

"The ANH novelisation and perhaps the SW movies themselves were once thought to be part of a fictional "Journal of the Whills" historical document recovered from a Galaxy far far away...at least that's my impression.

If an off-hand comment made by George Lucas during the production of Episode III regarding the ultimate in-universe author of the saga can be taken seriously, then we will at least have a specific scribe of the works from which all these adventures spin, while fulfilling the "need" that some readers have for this universe to be "real" somewhere.

But that's all I'll say for now.

And yeah, I know that's annoying.

ph "

So, Pablo, can you say anything now? (Or have you, and I just haven't gotten there yet?)

Thanks!

Sue Rostoni

so... what are you reading now, Sue?

Sorry I haven't been around..... just too busy right now.

I finished REVELATION -- awesome book, by the way. And am now reading the page proofs to FURY as well as the audio abridgment. Have a few other pressing things in the stack as well, and am taking Friday and Monday off as vacation.... (and if I take work with me, I'll be.... well, it won't be pretty). So I won't have time to get to your questions until next week sometime.

A red lightsaber on the cover of a book certainly helps readers realize that it's dark Jacen on the cover, and not just an angry-looking light Jacen. He may not actually have sith eyes in the book, either, but it could be a visual thing for the benefit of cover-gazers, ya know? Besides, all Sith have red lightsabers. :)

Isn't Caedus' lightsaber supposed to be gold? Wasn't that said in Betrayal in a vision or something? Black and gold if I remember correctly. So why is his lightsaber red on the cover?

the handle was black and gold.
I don't think the blade was ever activated, so it could still be red.

The "tongue-toggled comlink" is well established in
canon. Zahn was following what came before, not
making something up.

I know that, I just mentioned the book I read it in. I'm saying it should be de-established. It doesn't make sense.

I'm psyched Jacen is on the cover. I've been trying to visualize what he looks like as he's getting older and going sith. The cover for betrayal was not very good, you could barely make out his face, and what you could see made him look like a teenager still.

I also have a question: could you tell us if the whole LotF series is in the year 40, or if we'll see soon the year 41?

Is this thread used for asking questions to special Star Wars people? If so, then I have a question.....

I would just like to know what's going on with Kotor 3. And if you can't say anything about that, is there any way we can find out about what the storyline was for it before the team that had started it was laid off?

Sue, about the Revelation cover:

Isn't Caedus' lightsaber supposed to be gold? Wasn't that said in Betrayal in a vision or something? Black and gold if I remember correctly. So why is his lightsaber red on the cover?

And on a side note... I'm sad to see Jacen on another cover. He's already had one. He's so mean and evil he doesn't deserve two. LOL. +Where's Jaina+?!?! I'm dying here! Stupid Jacen. I just hate to see evil prosper. :p

I started rereading "Allegiance" and I was wondering if someone could quash the whole "flicked his tongue out and clicked the switch" thing on Stormtrooper helmets in all the EU. In real life we have voice activated microphones that only activate when you talk, so why wouldn't Stormtroopers? Also using your tongue to hit a switch inside your helmet would take concentration which might get you killed in combat, so it's not realistic.

Yeah it's a minor thing, but it bugs me to no end whenever I read that! :D

I'm well aware of the typeset difference, but I don't think it alone allows for 324 pages to expand to 480. But regardless of the technicalities, I'm still interested in what might be included as bonus material,.

So what kind of back up features are you looking at
for the Allegiance paperback? The page count for it,
as given by Del Rey has it at over a hundred pages
longer than the Hardback, so either they over
estimated or you're adding a lot of content.

Paperbacks always have a higher page count than Hardcovers, they have less words per page, thus they need more pages.
