Well I'm back (very temporarily) from another one of my mysterious and unpredictable absences.... :)

I just wanted to say thanks Sue for the release dates on the RC novels! I suppose a year between isn't ideal (for us readers; I imagine Karen much prefers it to, say, a month :)), but then, I need a little time since I haven't actually read the first two yet.... :D

Illogical Rogue, are you okay?? ;)

Sue, Will the Unknown regions be explored more in time? Also any news on upcoming books like spoilers and such?

Sue, I was wondering that over the years in star wars alot of species and civilzations have been wiped out for various reasons. Doesn't this run the risk of causing problems for authors by limiting a wider cast of characters and aliens?

It's a very, very large galaxy, and there's the barely explored Unknown Regions. I haven't had any complaints from the authors about feeling limited by what's available.

Even if a planet is wiped out, there's bound to be lots of that species off planet, if they are a starfaring species. There has also been mention in various books of populations of species who's planets were destroyed or made inhabitable that take refuge on other planets. The Camaasi(sp?) had a large population on Alderaan for example. Well that last one isn't a good example... :^O

Um the Exile hasn't been confirmed yet as far as I've heard, Leland said he'd prefer it that way, but last I heard it wasn't confirmed.

The New Essential Guide to Droids confirms it.

the Exile is canonically LS female

Though I could be wrong. ;)

This question might be a bit confusingly phrased, but bear with me: is information revealed in non-canonical game paths canon, if the non-canonical choice should have no effect on it? For example, the Exile is canonically LS female, but the Handmaiden's and Hanharr's backstory can only be learned as a male and dark side, respectively. Are the backstories themselves still canon, though, even if the character can't canonically learn them?

Sweeeeet I enjoy the LARGE ones. The more characters the better IMO :D

I'd like to see more maps too.

On that note, I noticed Last of the Jedi #5 didn't have any other Jude Watson SW book titles in it. I would think that the powers that be would use that coverspace to let people know about the other books. * I* know about them, but someone who just picked one up wouldn't. Just a thought I had. :D

Is Dramatis Personae becoming a standard thing?

Yes, it's becoming a standard thing.

Tim:

As a UK-based fan of Karen Traviss and of the
character Boba Fett, I rushed to ContentLink to
download the new ebook, only to find that they say
they don't accept non-US orders when I was
registering.

I did some more digging, and despite what Amazon told me, + A Practical Man+ is definitely available in Mobipocket format, on the Mobipocket site.

Why they don't just link straight to the Mobipocket items from the dead-tree pages is beyond me, seeing as Amazon own Mobipocket, but there you go. If they let me redesign their site, life would be soooooo much simpler.

According to Evasive Action, Tremayne's first name is "Antinnis". This was said by Prince Xizor (who deals in information) but was it true or just a ruse?

Is Dramatis Personae becoming a standard thing? at
first I thought it was just the NJO books, 'cause
they were special but then i saw it in the
Dark Nest trilogy, Betrayal, RC:TZ, and in my
recently bought X-Wing: Wedge's Gamble(Bantam
Paperback).

The Dramatis Personae started in the X-Wing books by Mike Stackpole & Aaron Allston, and was used in a handful of other Bantam books. It was also used in all the NJO books (except VP) , the Dark Nest books, and a few of th prequel-era books. IIRC, it is up to the author if he/she wants to include one, but most fans like them (especially when we get them before the books come out!)

General info on e-books: my colleague Keith de Candido has had this problem with Trek titles and says that Adobe format books will still be available from Powells.com, eReader.com, and fictionwise.com. So bookmark some of those. I know Fictionwise has no problem with UK customers because I used to use them.

Amazon is not the only game in town.
