Yeah it creates some problems, but from a layman's perspective they seem to be less in number than where these events are currently placed in the time line.

Wow, I hope he gets better soon.

By the way, I know I'm a little late to the party on this, but I only check this board once a week. For those of you suffering from CN continuity issues, your brain might thank you if you took the 20-year continuity mess up as not a problem, but as reflective of the actual date of the events of which it affects. It helps me sleep better at night at least. :) I'm betting most of the events in those novels will eventually get retconned forward in time, depending on what the TV series does.

Hope you recover soon, Aaron...

I am currently reading Outcast, and must say that it is one of the best SW books I've read in a long time!!! Aaron Allston is, among with Karen Traviss and Michael A. Srackpole, one of my favorite Star Wars authors!!!

I'm not in the Dallas area but I try to donate blood every 8 weeks (as often as is allowed). Get well soon Aaron!

That's horrible. I'm originally from the Dallas area, but I'm currently living elsewhere. If I were down there now I'd be the first to volunteer some blood.

*Stay tuned. *

Wow... I wish him the best.

Perhaps this could have it's own thread.

Just so you know, Aaron Allston had a slight heart attack while on tour for OUTCAST and is recovering from bypass surgery in an undisclosed Dallas-area hospital. More info will be posted on sw.com soon -- as well as an opportunity for folks in the immediate area to donate blood to offset Aaron's hospital costs. Stay tuned.

.I'm guessing we can count on this Allegiance sequel to be hardback

Yes, it will be a hardback, but I don't know that it'll be an actual sequel to Allegiance...other than that it occurs after Allegiance.

I'm kind of surprised that it wasn't immediately billed as an Allegiance sequel; that certainly sounds like exactly what it is. Maybe it's because there's no overarching series title (like Fate of the Jedi, Legacy of the Force, New Jedi Order, Dark Nest, etc) and the title of this novel, whatever it may be, will be completely unrelated to "Allegiance" despite having the same characters and being set presumably soon afterward.

I believe it is due to some variety of copyright. Someone must have sued that they weren't given credit for creating a type of font and now all books must put that font information in the back.

I wouldn't expect that to be the case. Publishers don't just pick a font they like from Word and use it, they pay to license every font they use. You can't sue someone for using something you've licensed to them.

I have gathered the Zahn and Stackpole stories from +Hyperspace + and Clone Wars (as well as the one from the Del Rey site that never made it into a novel reprint) chronologically into a single document, and was realizing that there are enough there to make a novel-length anthology.

Hint, hint.

Any hep here would be hot. ;)

Oh, and Sue...I'm guessing we can count on this Allegiance sequel to be hardback?

I'm currently reading the Terminator Salvation prequel written by Tim Zahn. Pretty good.

You're welcome!
:D

Real easy to say that, eh? Hiring a multiple New York Times Bestseller author to write a book that'll be a surefire hit on the basis of his name alone is a real favor to the fanbase, isn't it? Lucasarts and Del Rey are happy to make that...sacrifice for us, aren't they?

...

Just kidding with you. Wonderful idea, and I'm sure it will make Del Rey and the fanbase equally happy.
