I believe it is due to some variety of copyright. Someone must have sued that they weren't given credit for creating a type of font and now all books must put that font information in the back.
I wouldn't expect that to be the case. Publishers don't just pick a font they like from Word and use it, they pay to license every font they use. You can't sue someone for using something you've licensed to them.

I have gathered the Zahn and Stackpole stories from +Hyperspace + and Clone Wars (as well as the one from the Del Rey site that never made it into a novel reprint) chronologically into a single document, and was realizing that there are enough there to make a novel-length anthology.
Hint, hint.
Any hep here would be hot.

I'm currently reading the Terminator Salvation prequel written by Tim Zahn. Pretty good.

You're welcome!

Real easy to say that, eh? Hiring a multiple New York Times Bestseller author to write a book that'll be a surefire hit on the basis of his name alone is a real favor to the fanbase, isn't it? Lucasarts and Del Rey are happy to make that...sacrifice for us, aren't they?
...
Just kidding with you. Wonderful idea, and I'm sure it will make Del Rey and the fanbase equally happy.

*"Zsinj? Wasn't he the droid?" "No, son, that was Grievous." *
Absolutely! We remember what we live through, mostly.

*Given the collective amnesia I witness in real
life, I suppose it's not unrealistic to see something
similar reflected in a fictitious universe. *
So true.....
Considering that just about everyone has forgotten (in-universe and out) that Luke Skywalker himself was once the second-in-command of the Empire (the right-hand-man of Palpatine, no less), I think that Daala's past being forgotten is hardly implausible. I'm more curious to know where she scrounged up that fleet she had in Revelation.
As far as societal amnesia, I'm always amazed at how few people know their own country's history. Yes, the US once owned the Philippines. Yes, the US being the major trading partner of China is not a new thing, it was the same in McKinley's time. I'm not surprised that the people of the GFFA feel the same way, especially because they aren't as in touch with everything as the reader is. I could easily see: "Zsinj? Wasn't he the droid?" "No, son, that was Grievous."

The fourth Clone Wars novel? Already? I didn't think that was scheduled for release until sometime in 2010? Considering you don't even have Blood Oath yet (and it was supposed to be released already), Karen Miller must be on her game!
According to Karen Miller's own blog, http://karenmiller.livejournal.com, she had finished the first draft at the beginning of March - somebody's on the boil!! I am surprised that it is in Sue's hands already!!
I wonder when she'll have the fifth book written?

Any thoughts on when we might get a title for Clone Wars #4?

Actually there weren't so many errors in it. You can
take a look at
[url=http://starwarsatlas.uw.hu/timeline/lotf070611.ht
m]starwarsatlas.uw.hu/timeline/lotf070611.htm[/url]
if you're interested. (Or maybe everyone knows this
site already.)
Thanks for the link Darth Sithidiot. I had not known about this before.

I finished reading Outcast, which was excellent,
and
I saw the information on the font in the back. I'm
just curious why some of the newer books list that
information. Are there that many people that say
"Wow, that font is just so cool, I wonder what it
was?"
It seems to have become standard practice in the last
few decades. I think that it's silly, but I see it
in Very. Serious. Books as well as fiction.
I believe it is due to some variety of copyright. Someone must have sued that they weren't given credit for creating a type of font and now all books must put that font information in the back. I have seen it in several hardcover besides just Star Wars as well. Although I have never seen it in a paperback.

I do all the time. That's how I discovered Sybon and Garamound, Don't much care for the typeface that Outcast was written in, however.
