+Look like I will he having my copy shipped across the ocean then, I don't do hardcovers. +
FWIW, I've bought books and CD's from Amazon.co.uk (I'm an anglophile and not all CD's and books are published in the US) and the price for shipping has always been reasonable, and (iirc) the current exchange rate is pretty decent. If people really want softcovers, they can always order direct from the UK via Amazon's UK site, Play.com, or try ebay.

Okay, so, speaking of timelines and such, I have to ask because I've been asked twice today and have no real answer . . .
PATTERNS OF FORCE SPOILERS
In Street of Shadows, the second book of Coruscant Nights, there are quite a few continuity issues. Granted, the two "deaths" of characters that appear later (one of which I'm guessing just became N-Canon) are the most troubling ones. However, the repeated errors in the date of the Medstar books and TPM in relation to Coruscant Nights brings up a bigger issue.
At the end of the third book of Coruscant Nights, Patterns of Force, Vader goes all "wiggedy" (my word, of course) after being affected by bota, which should have given him extreme powers, but instead has a negative effect on the Sith Lord. Jax, when asked why this happened, explains that he believes that it is likely because the bota was twenty years old.
Problem.
The bota wasn't twenty years old. It was only a few years old. The "twenty years old" issue was a result of the series' repeated errors regarding when Coruscant Nights took place in relation to the Medstar books, which the series, to my knowledge, rarely, if ever, got correct.
Thus, the entire ending of the book no longer makes any logical sense. There's no reason for the bota not to work as Vader expected, as the reason it was supposedly degraded just went up in chronological error smoke.
So . . .
Is there any form of official explanation at this point as to why the end of Patterns of Force plays out as it does, given that the twenty-year-old bota explanation is not possible?
(And to those who keep asking me, as if I somehow have the answer to this question: You're welcome.)

Actually there weren't so many errors in it. You can take a look at
starwarsatlas.uw.hu/timeline/lotf070611.htm
if you're interested. (Or maybe everyone knows this site already.)

Yeah, that timeline I had posted -- well, I messed it
up. But I think it was off by a month or so, back
when the series started, not by years. I had Ben's
birthday and tried to back-track and move forward
from that, but I got confused somewhere in the
back-tracking. It happens. I'll have to check the
Holorcon regarding the years.....
So I assume a corrected timeline was never done.

Okay, to confuse things even more, the Holocron here has FURY set at "40.55+" Keep in mind that the ".55" is 55-hundreths of a 12 month year. My ninth-grade algebra fails me again.

Where'd you hear that? The only thing I know is: There once has been an official LotF timeline, which is now considered incorrect by Sue herself, and this timeline has been only for the first three LotF novels.

Hey Sue, I have a question about the excerpt of Omen thats in the back of Outcast,
SPOILER
SPOILER
SPOILER
*
*
*
The prologue (in Omen) with Dician in the Poison Moon chasing Ship says in the beginning that whats happening is two standard years ago when it should be three as Fury is in 40 ABY and Omen is in 43 ABY. My question is did Christie Golden make a mistake in saying that the prologue is two years earlier when it should be three, or is Fury set in 41 ABY instead of 40 ABY?

Thank you for answering my question about the clone wars novel Sue. I cant beleive it wont be getting any type of paperback release. Thats unprecidented in SW novels and I really hope it isnt a trend that will continue. Im a paperback only person so I was wondering if you have an estimate of the UK release date for KT's clone wars novel?

Henry: George gave Dave and I a lot of freedom and he didn't want us to be limited by what the EU had established. In fact, there were times I was really challenged by him to create something new, yet I tried to be true to what came before. On one occasion, I even got in trouble when I tried to be stubbornly true to the OT and he wanted something different. George said about me, "Henry is too married to the movies."
Initially, there were things that were off limits by George himself, but as I will go into later, he simply changed his mind and opened up the entire Star Wars Galaxy to `Dare to be Great!' Initially, that took some re-thinking for Dave and I as we realized that +George wanted to get out of the box of what was and push the boundaries of what Star Wars could be. +

Zee Zee, I like your assumptions and to be frankly honest, like the idea of two seperate timelines. But thats me.
Sue, I know that you may not be able to answer too much on this, but is TOR going to shape up to be like Worlds of Warcraft? What I mean is, a possiblitiy of on-going novels and maybe comic books? Lately, I've delved into WOW and I found that not only is the MMO game highly rated, but its ancillery products, ie comic books and novels are top notch. I beleive that Christine Golden one of the writers for FOTJ series wrote one of those books. Would a novel on the MMO game be part of this contract or a seperate one like the clone wars?

- Especially since, when you watch the original CW
series' DVD documentaries, Lucas had involvement in
that series, too. And says things like (and
I'm paraphrasing here) "Now we get to explore all
those war stories in this era". So, at the time, it
seems to me Lucas intended THAT to be "the definitive
Clone Wars". Either Lucas changed his mind or he just
considers both series to be valid stories set in the
CW era.
I'm praying for the latter....

The Clone Wars cartoons and 3D series have not contradicted each other yet. George Lucas is a filmmaker, and has had a hand in all of the onscreen representations of Star Wars. The EU is, in his own words, another universe. So far, I'm able to watch the cartoons, the animated series, and the films, with nary a serious glitch. Which is as it should be.

I'm not in the contract negotiation end of things here, but I imagine Random House Audio picked up DEATH TROOPERS because of all the internet exposure the cover received.
Thank you again Sue.
I was thinking along similar lines that it was because Death Troopers would appeal to a larger market, ie SW fans sw well as horror fans, than the more 'traditional' SW novel.

Is there any talks with any current or previous publisher to publish books in an electronic format? I've purchased several short stories on the Sony site, but would love to get current texts on my Kindle. I love the idea of reading futuristic fiction like Star Wars on the reading devices of the future.
I don't know about this yet. I know the books are available for download now, but I don't know what formats they're in. You might check the Random House site.
Also, have you ever used a Kindle or Sony Reader?
No -- Now, if they had a Reader that would allow me to edit manuscripts on it.... yeah, I might go for that. But just for reading? It's a bit out of my price range. Maybe if I traveled more....
Previously I believe that you mentioned that Mr Lucas doesn't stay involved with the EU texts. Do you happen to know what any of his reading interests are?
No, I don't know anything about George's personal life -- and if I did, I'd keep it to myself anyway.
What types of books do you read when you aren't editing Star Wars texts?
I try not to get into personal stuff here....

*a new SW author (Joe Schreiber) is given an additional outlet medium (ie audio) than a veteran author (Matthew Stover) who has previously produced a SW #1 bestseller in the past, ie proven his sales worthniness.
It just seems a little odd, that's all.*
The audios aren't "given" -- they're under contract with Random House Audio -- they decide which books they want to contract for. Doesn't have anything to do with the author. In the past, they picked up the same titles as the main Random House book contract, but with the change to unabridged formats they've cut back on the number of titles. I'm not in the contract negotiation end of things here, but I imagine Random House Audio picked up DEATH TROOPERS because of all the internet exposure the cover received.
