*> *How are all of these copies of Outcast getting out

I have no idea and haven't heard this -- I just today
received the final cover flat (the cover itself) so I
doubt it's even on the books yet... what are people
reading??? There may have been review copies sent
out, I'm not sure -- are folks reading reviews???
I'm in the dark here.*

Yes, I am assuming they are review copies because a lot people have read the entire thing... but i was always under the impression SW didn't do review copies. Spoilers have spread across the internet like wildfire. Madness I tell you!

Well, I am trying to stay away from the spoilers in case they are a crock. But, just wanted to ask and inform you of what was going on. Thanks!

Love that title, Sue!

Me too, even though I voted for "Star Wars: The Evil Backlash in the Shadowy Path of the Dark Side"

Hey Zebra3 --

Thanks for your note. Yes, I very much appreciate the unabridged audio books as well -- the whole story is there, and I no longer have to read stories with plot lines cut!

Random House Audio didn't pick up all the Del Rey titles in their contract this time -- Shadows of Mindor is one they chose not to do. Unfortunate.

Sue,

I hope this is the proper thread for this (and I apoligize if it is not) but, I would just like to thank you (and anyone else who is responsible) for finally starting to make unabridged Star Wars audiobooks on a regular basis. I hope that they continue from now on. I love being able to send requests for them to my librarian asking him to place an order for them for our library. They don't buy abridged audiobooks anymore and I love seeing Star Wars back on the shelves. :)

Also, do you know if Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor will be produced as an unabridged audiobook? I hope so. It's now one of my favorites :)

Thanks again! :)

Joe talked about that in his blog. HE burned a bunch of CDs so he had something to give out at the New York Comic Con. I assume he just asked the people at the Del Rey booth for help in passing them out.

He said, just one post earlier:

"In other news, I'm burning a bunch of freebie Deathtroopers CDs to give away this weekend at the NYCC, with music from Rob Zombie, Tool, Beck, Johnny Cash, John Williams and others. This is the playlist I put together while writing the novel -- in other words it's the unofficial Deathtroopers soundtrack. I'll be handing them out at the Del Rey booth throughout Saturday and Sunday. Cool? Cool. "

Hey Sue, what's up with ?

I thought I read earlier that Joe Schreiber made up an unofficial mix CD to go with the book, but if that's the case how is Del Rey able to distribute copies?

This isn't a "real" soundtrack is it?

I don't have any information about future retirement.
I don't have any information about future books by Matt Stover.
I don't have any information about future anthologies.
I don't have any information about future books starring Kyle Katarn.

Sue, I have to ask this -- if you cannot answer, I understand.

How are all of these copies of Outcast getting out so early? I've heard rumors about ARCs (advanced review copies that I've heard SW doesn't even do in the first place) and regular old page proofs. Then a few people have told me that they have the entire novel -- cover and all -- and have read it all.... do you guys print the novels this early and sell them, or was this some sort of inside leak? Or was this your guys' intention? I don't recall this happening before with a novel, so I was just curious...

Thanks
The Broox

I'm just anxious about future works and I was hoping
there would be some Big Three standalone hardcovers
like in the Bantam days. I'm looking forward to Fate
of the Jedi especially Outcast and Omen with a
certain order coming back after their starship
crashed on a planet for millenia and are now wanting
to take over the galaxy. I like these story arcs like
NJO,LOTF and the upcoming FOTJ. But I was just hoping
to see more Big 3 standalones and I just there will
an epic finale novel for the Big Three and I think
Stover should be perfect for the job.

We all know that and have know that for some time, the trick is that you don't need to constantly remind everyone especially the VIPs. If they don't answer something the first time, let it be for a while (read weeks) and ask again. But if they twice say no or don't answer it drop the subject.

Furthermore announcements about new books are always that, announcements; the beans never get spilled early here. So just be patient.

So Guys just leave me alone
and let me express myself here! Especially you Darth
Henning!

They were merely trying to help you (but could have been a bit more polite). I have already told you all of this at least once. If I have to do it again there will be repercussions.

No surprise there

Ah well, maybe one day.

I don't have any information about future books starring Kyle Katarn.

Darn. Please do consider it if it becomes an option.

OH and most importantly Sue, My sincere thanks for all the great work you've been doing and keep doing to make the Expanded universe great. Thank you especially (or at least most recently) for what looks to be a great FOTJ series (yes, spoilers have already leaked from Outcast), and for the Invasion comics.

Keep up the great work!

He was.

Ben:

If a question is not answered that is because Sue/other VIPs are not allowed to answer, do not know the answer, or do not want to answer.

You have been reminded of this several times. Please respect the rules. When Sue wants to tell us about other upcoming novels, she will, she has never fallen short before and won't in the future (unless she retires soon and no longer has information).

Please stop asking the same question repeatedly.

Wow, hate adding my two cents here, but didn't you get told a few months back to STOP asking that same thing over and over and over...........................

Obviously there is no answer to give you at this time, if ever.
