Maybe he's said something on one of the other threads??

The last I heard he was basically saying don't hold your breath waiting for a definitive answer.
I asked about the timeline which will be in the upcoming 'Star Wars Encyclopedia' and he said to expect it to be vague.

Could you fill us in on where the new Clone Wars books fit in the current continuity or the clone wars/Republic Commando books already released?

The only thing I know for certain is that Karen Miller's Clone Wars #2 book occurs after Karen Traviss's The Clone Wars novel, and both happen after Episode II. I haven't talked with Leland about it recently and I don't know what progress he's made in creating a new timeline for these years. Maybe he's said something on one of the other threads??

Hey sue,

If you need an enforcer to stop leaks and I am looking for a new job! I will gladly take that position! I could definitely use a change of scenery from New England for a while! :-)

It seems as though there's rarely peace in that galaxy far, far, away.

That's so true -- at least not galaxy-wide peace. A lot like our own planet, I guess. :(

*Hey Sue, if you've been there 18 years I guess you remember when the Internet didn't spoil everything... so does it annoy you when Amazon / Random House etc spoils your surprises like Millennium Falcon and Fate of the Jedi, or are you just glad some info has managed to get out *

No, it doesn't annoy me, for the most part, although I do get a bit frustrated sometimes. I'm always curious to know where the "leak" was, though, especially the one for the rumored 9-book Fate of the Jedi series. It puzzles me. There was also a time when one of the soundtrack packages was on the internet within five minutes of my approving it -- and it included the corrections!

The goal is to get announcements on sw.com first so when we get scooped my first feeling is like a deflating balloon; all the air comes out of me with a big sigh and an "oh, well."

Sue, with the name of the franchise being "Star WARS", is there pressure to produce stories that involve large scale conflicts?

It seems as though there's rarely peace in that galaxy far, far, away. The two times in recent years when there was peace(after NJO, after DN) were skipped over by writers so they could launch more large scale wars.

I bet it makes it tough that by releasing the information, she gets all these questions and can't answer most (nearly all) of them until LFL is ready to begin marketing the product.

Really good question, Nick! The comparisons between information flow when Sue started 18 years ago compared to today...

Though she's good at throwing us a curve and taking our mind off these unanswerable questions with her devious mentions of chocolate sprinkles and various other tastelicious treats. :)

And congrats on the 18 years, Sue!

18 years, wow... I will be 'celebrating' my 19th year as a central heating service-technician at the same company this year...

I for one think the Staff and ALL the Authors are keeping me entertained. Im excited about each and every book, AND i keep comming back for more.

My thougts exactly... I frequent numerous Star Wars fiction forums twice a day, and find that it really is becoming more negative... I have been looking out for the new books and comics actively since 1984, and am still very entertained with what's offered...

Hey Sue--how long have you been at LFL? You've been listed in the acknowledgments as far back as the YJK series, perhaps longer.

It'll be 18 years this November.

I always read the acknowledgments. That's how I know the answer to the question of Han Solo: boxers or briefs?

I for one thank Sue, the rest of the Staff (for doing everything possible to keep over 150 novels, 100's of comics, and the likes), and the Authors for all their hard work in keeping too much info into some form of continuity. Heck even historians differ on how things went down!

Since when did we all just complain so much about the books around here? If the story or story arc was written the way "you" wanted it maybe somebody else wouldnt like it, or if it was written they was "they" liked it....
My point is this, nobody is going to have the same opinion on anything.....life is, was, and never will be exactly the way we like it....that is fact. Always pointing out what is "wrong" in a story or with the arc is just wrong. For one it is not "our" universe, its the wonderfully creative staffs and the characters.
Most authors write from inside the characters heads...so if all the characters dont like Boba....oh well i dont think he cares...and i seriously doubt Luke cares either.
And plot holes?? They make for awesome stories later if somebody cares to follow up on them.

No official placement of the movie/novel has been announced yet... (and boy, do some of us anticipate such an announcement!!!). The only things that's for sure is that the movie takes place early in the clone wars, probably several months after the Battle of Geonosis... And it has already been retconned in the sw.com databank that Anakin Skywalker becomes becomes a Jedi Knight early on in the war instead of shortly before RotS...

I have a question regarding the new Clone Wars novels. They are obviously set between Ep2 and Ep3. My question is that there are already "Clone Wars Novels", where do these new novels take place in the time line. Before Shatterpoint, after Cestus Deception all will be before Labrynth....
Do they have an official spot in the the timeline?

Thanks
Greg
