Sue is there going to be a book presentation at San Diego Comic Con of upcoming SW novels like Millennium Falcon and Fate of the Jedi Book 1,Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor and the new contract?

Also I hope Fate of the Jedi by Aaron Allston will be a Post-LOTF novel series set after MF since Millennium Falcon will be Han,Leia and Allana's story. Will Fate of the Jedi be Luke and Ben Skywalker and the New Jedi Order's story or will it be set after Revenge of the Sith?

Is there going be a subtitle (unofficial, even) to Karen Traviss' Clone Wars novelization?

No subtitle -- it's the novelization of the movie -- Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

That's it.

256 pages for a $27 hardback?

They can't count the pages of a book that hasn't been written yet.

"The Clone Wars Book 1" is so generic as to be almost meaningless. :(

lol I'd +fourth +that "OMG" but I was the one seconding Jaina's news so I can't...Ah well. I'm very happy to see Allston back in business here and with it being called Fate of the Jedi, the possibilities are endless.

I think Sue said somewhere else recently she can't confirm anything about the novel until they have the official announcement (press release) ready.

If I had one complaint about it...it's the page count...

256 pages for a $27 hardback?

But Amazon has known to be wrong about page counts before and this is so early before it goes into presses. That'll change.

Anyway...GREAT job LF, DR and Aaron on teaming up again!

Though not a word, I'm thirding that "OMG" squee-fest about the apparent Allston book. That man is my hero. Awaiting more news with great anticipation.

Hope you had a Happy Fourth, everyone, and that all your digits are intact.

Is there a reason Millennium Falcon was pushed ahead, and Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor pushed back?
Matt is late with his manuscript, and Jim is early -- just made sense to swap them to give us a bit more time.

Sue,
Thanks for the clarification on the change in pub dates. Can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to +Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor+! I love the cover art and am anxious to read this since this is the timeframe I'd love more novels to expand upon.

Good eye Jason. I also wonder if this PS3 game novel by William C. Dietz is a book in the pipeline for star wars. Care to comment Sue?

lol Jason, thanks for passing that along!

If that's the case, I echo Jaina's "OMG" comment. :)

Nicely done Aaron and Sue! Can never be enough new books from Mr. Allston.

there was news from elsewhere.

Amazon.ca has a new hardcover by Allston listed for March, titled "Fate of the Jedi".

Interesting, no?

I also want to ask something of Sue... and this is just me checking... you don't have anything to do with that Untitled PS3 Game novel by William C. Dietz, do you? Just wondering, because I don't usually see a lot of "untitled" books listed at Del Rey that aren't a Lucasbook.

Noooo Jaina. That was purely a suggestion on my part, a fan. Just a suggestion for him to write up another X-Wing novel post LOTF.

But I was out of line for suggesting it as Jeff says above. I know the fans want it but Aaron is recovering from surgery at the moment and he has his own commitments. Same goes for Sue and everyone else with their own stuff to do.

I mean, unless you're hearing this news from elsewhere today and posting it here. I'm just clarifying his name being brought up above. That's my fault entirely.

Hey Sue,

Any word yet on STAR WARS THE CLONE WARS: JEDI ALLIANCE, which is reported as telling an original story, exclusive to the Nintendo DS platform, specifically on whether us many non-gamers will have an opportunity to enjoy the story via book, comic, short-story or novella?

And Coruscant Knights was fantastic! I wonder how many fans realize Reaves was writing in the wonderfully lurid style of the 1930's dime novels and pulp magazines? At any rate, it was put to great effect here! Can't wait for the next one!

Very true Jeff. Just a suggestion on working out the Post-LOTF things brought up by fans.

Since Mando fans love Karen's take on that angle, X-Wing fans love Aaron's take on that series and James has such a large following due to his own epics in EU, I was offering the suggestions aloud. But as we both say, they have their own contracts, their own commitments, financial responsibilities, etc. Not my place and I apologize for that one. :)

Keep the good work too! As a fan since Heir first came out, I look forward to the future of the EU.

Cadderly... I hate to sound like a curmudgeon, but this isn't a thread for posting suggestions as to which authors should write which kind of books. Especially when you get that specific --- "Have Allston write a book with these plots, then have Traviss write a book with these plots" --- understand and use this thread for what it is. What it isn't is a place for us to discuss our dream books and then tell the VIP's to make those a reality.

Similarly, it isn't a thread to ask if books have gone to press yet, because you have ideas on how to make them better.

It might not be too late for Sue and James to add something, Zinno. Has MF gone to presses yet? He probably has the manuscript ready for Sue at Lucasfilm and her comrades at Del Rey but I bet it's still in the late stages of touch ups.

If it's possible, James may get to add a little something to closing out that angle between Han/Leia/Allana/Tenel.

Obviously, since there's no contract for having Karen wrap up the Mandalorian post-LOTF angle or Aaron wrap up the Tycho/Wedge/Syri/Jag/Jaina part, those would be decisions by Sue and fellow fans at LFB and DR.

But I think it would help a lot of lingering answers with LOTF. Have the three authors do three stand alones right after LOTF (Luceno's being the first) and close up all the lingering questions.

Ugh, no more ebooks! But a book of three shorter stories, one by each author, would be wicked good.

Have Luceno touch upon the whole post-Jacen angle with Han, Leia, Allana and Tenel Ka.

I think it would be too late to have Luceno go back and edit...if it isn't already in there. And it would be so cool and relieving if maybe Troy Denning could write an Ebook taking place right after Invincible.

Post Invincible Spoilers**********

Hey Sue,

If a suggestion is possible so Luceno isn't burdened with having to answer all the lingering LOTF sub-plots, here's something...at least for the fans.

Barring contract issues, author commitments and financial viability of course!

Have Luceno touch upon the whole post-Jacen angle with Han, Leia, Allana and Tenel Ka.

Then have Aaron write a novel closing up the Tyco/Syri/Wedge angle in a Jag/Jaina storyline.

Then have Karen close up with a Mandalorian story finishing the unsolved mysteries behind the after effects of Invincible.

Jag/Jaina/Tycho/Wedge/Syri for Aaron

Han/Leia/Allana/Tenel Ka/Jacen for James

Boba Fett/Mirta/Venku/Bevin for Karen

Three seperate novels. Many unsolved LOTF details are answered for the readers in three novels as three stand alone stories that are somewhat linked via the LOTF.
