Sue, I just finished Fury, and I'm seriously having heart palpitations.

It was very good. I enjoyed it a lot. And it was very well rounded, not rushed.

Also, I asked a while back, and I'm not sure if it's too early to ask, but do you think there will be a LotF panel at WonderCon next year, or Comic Con (that's a little far)? Is there anywhere else you might schedule a LotF panel, if neither of those places?

Probably just at Comic Con in San Diego.

well if it is a domestic raised turkey is it cage free? does it have hormones in it?

Right -- cage free, no hormones, and fed organic grains, etc. I have to say it was the most tender and tasty chicken I've ever eaten.

I'm a huge Jaina fan, so I usually gobble up the Jaina parts and then kind of drift through the rest of the story. But this was not the case with Fury--I was gobbling up every aspect of that story. Please, PLEASE consider Aaron Allston for future SW EU stories; the man cannot be beat!!!

Also, since I AM a huge Jaina (and Jag) fan, I was totally passing out at the awesome Jaina parts. And Jag parts. And Jaina/Jag parts. coughpleasemorejainaandjagcough

Hey Sue, I was wondering about Indy 4 novelization. Is that coming out as adult or junior novelization?

I think I caught up on things here... if I missed your question, I apologize in advance.....

I just finished reading the manuscript by James Rollins of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I know it's not Star Wars, but it rocks anyway! A really good, exciting read -- true "Indy." (I recently finished Jim Luceno's Indy young adult novelization -- also very, very good.)

I should be getting INVINCIBLE soon, along with Matt Stover's LUKE novel. And I've been seeing a lot of penciled pages for Dark Horse's The Force Unleashed graphic novel. Totally awesome -- great action. Life is good!

*Sue, I have one other question. Is there any chance that we might see a release of Escape from Dagu in the near future? I'm only asking because I'm a big fan of the character Shaak Ti.

No, sorry.

seen anything on paper.

Thanks, Thanksgiving was nice. quiet. just me and my
mom this year. i stuffed an organic chicken named
Rosie (the name was on the label).

  • (although, frankly, I doubt LFL would be interested since this person is not a top seller*

Many of the SW authors were not top sellers. It's the quality of writing that's most important.

asked Sue because not every published author has an agent. And, you never know, since some of the info I looked up on the old thread, and earlier in this one, was posted, things might have changed. Once upon a time, they were looking for a mystery writer (I'd really have to go back and hunt for that post), which would be right up this person's alley.

If this person is interested in writing a SW novel, his or her agent should contact Shelly at Del Rey. We'd read a couple of his or her (already-published) novels and go from there....

If I understand correctly, about the only thing you can do, IF you're a published and professional writer, is get your agent to contact their publisher to express your interest in writing for SW. (And even then, that's no guarantee) But that's all you can do. No pitching book ideas to them. No sending unsolicited manuscripts. That stuff won't get you hired, and might even keep them from hiring you in the future.

Well, this is true too. What we absolutely won't do is read unsolicited story ideas or manuscripts. But if there's a professional author out there who we think would be best suited to a particular idea we have, we can and would approach that person to see if he or she is interested. And sometimes a professional author who has an idea will approach us (through Del Rey) to let us know he or she is interested. It works both ways.

would like to know if you're aware about Tsuyoshi Nagano's work, because his covers are so beautiful (for me far better thant Jason Felix's), and if he actually work on LOTF's cover ?

Yes, I am familiar with Tsuyoshi's work -- he's now doing covers for FX, Inc. in Japan, the latest being ALLIANCE. It's awsome, and no, he's not working on any US covers.

*"For novels, you don't call them; they call you."

That's not what I read on the old VIP thread.*

Right, sometimes we make the call.
