According to Evasive Action, Tremayne's first name is "Antinnis". This was said by Prince Xizor (who deals in information) but was it true or just a ruse?

Is Dramatis Personae becoming a standard thing? at
first I thought it was just the NJO books, 'cause
they were special but then i saw it in the
Dark Nest trilogy, Betrayal, RC:TZ, and in my
recently bought X-Wing: Wedge's Gamble(Bantam
Paperback).
The Dramatis Personae started in the X-Wing books by Mike Stackpole & Aaron Allston, and was used in a handful of other Bantam books. It was also used in all the NJO books (except VP) , the Dark Nest books, and a few of th prequel-era books. IIRC, it is up to the author if he/she wants to include one, but most fans like them (especially when we get them before the books come out!) |

General info on e-books: my colleague Keith de Candido has had this problem with Trek titles and says that Adobe format books will still be available from Powells.com, eReader.com, and fictionwise.com. So bookmark some of those. I know Fictionwise has no problem with UK customers because I used to use them.
Amazon is not the only game in town. |

Tim, rush to my web site instead - there's a link in the news section to the Diesel E-books APM page. They sell to us Europeans. (And I wouldn't have known that if eddie hadn't found it first.)
Don't rush to Amazon, UK or US, though, because they aren't carrying it on account of the formats - they're only selling Mobipocket format e-books now because they bought the company. |

It's in the registration section when you go to select country, and since my cred card is registered as UK and address is there, I am not keen to put an incorrect address in. Also, I emailed ContentLink to see if I can order anyway, and was given the reply back that they aren't authorised to sell to non-US people.

It's rules, Tramp. They put game balance ahead of canon when they have to. That's why so many species in the game take hits to attributes like Wisdom when they show no lack of the trait; it's not because they're actually less wise, but because WotC has some very set ideas about how characters and character abilities should balance out.

THANKS!! i saw a comic on the shelf the other day where it depicts this scenario but didnt know if it was the first naming of anakin....lol so Tom essentially sent anakin to his death cause if he was Han Jr. then he might have lived

Tom Veitch did, indeed (as another poster mentioned), name Anakin Solo in Empire's End. Han originally suggests "Han, Junior", but Leia overrules him. :^O Anakin's adventures were first described in Junior Jedi Knights, a wonderful series which I fanatically recommend to everyone I can.
The Junior Jedi Knights books are:
The Golden Globe; Lryic's World; Promises; Anakin's Quest; Vader's Fortress; Kenobi's Blade. Enjoy!

ok SUE i got a question...cause i got started reading the SW books like right before the NJO started i read alot of stuff in different orders..lol
Question i have is this....what author named Anakin Solo? in other words who thought of it? where did it first appear?
I was thinkin bout this last nite but totally forgot.

Thus, a lightsaber with a blade-length adjuster and multiple crystals (not a Dual-phased) should be able to go from a dagger sized blade up to a 3 meter great saber, and anywhere in between, not simply a 25% adjustment for comfort, with no appreciable affect on the combat characteristics.
Is there anything you can do to get him to correct that gross error.

In essence he is saying that only the Dual-Phase lightsaber like Corran Horn's, is truely adjustable to a significant degree, and that only has two distinct settings becasue it swaps out the crystals. According to other canon sources, including the Heir to the Empire Sourcebook (on pages 107 and 108), and our own Official Databank, as well as the Visual Dictionary and the affore mentioned novel. Luke didn't make any special modifications, that lightsaber was designed to be fully adjustable. A lightsaber with multiple crystals is fully adjustable to a wider variety of lengths-that can go from small blades for close in, to long lengths for keeping your foe at a distance, because the length is adjusted by varying the distance between the crystals-than a Dual-Phased lightsaber with two specific lengths. Sue, Leland, I thought i would bring something else to your attention that deals with a recent ruling in the RPG regarding lightsabers by GM Sarli and a serious conflict it creates with established canon. According to his ruling, a lightsaber other than a dual-phase lightsaber can only have the blade length adjusted about 25 %, not really changing its size significantly (i.E. no game effect), and that it takes a special modification to get the blade down to the size Luke did in Splinter of the Mind's Eye, and then it is only good as a tool, not a weapon, and you can't adjust it to any other size in between. Sue, I was wondering how writers and editors get together and go about doing a retcon. Say for example between a short story and a comic, or a book and a magazine article? I've always been curious ever since becoming a star wars fan. By the way, you guys do a much better job retconning than say Marvel or D.C.
Good question. Leland is the guy in charge of managing retcons. Generally, when an opportunity turns up to logically fit a retcon in, say in a novel or short story, we guide the author. But it has to be a part of the story in some way. I really don't like it when retcons are done just for the sake of making things fit, especially if it detracts from the story itself, or takes the reader out of the story. Most readers aren't aware of the problems to begin with, so to put in a fix somewhere that calls a lot of attention to it, and doesn't fit logically with the story itself, in my opinion, isn't worth the retcon.
