+She uses a contact board system through her homepage

It does! I sent her an email and she responded the same day! :) +

Glad to hear it! I'm just going to underline this for other posters because I know a lot still ask questions in various threads here, she's pretty open with her fans, but if she had to go through all the various forums and threads she'd never get anything written, but she's quick to respond via that contact page. If you see posters who really want to get in touch with her, point them in the right direction, she enjoys hearing from the fans even if she can't always give direct answers due to spoilers ;)

Karen do you think you will ever write a book that is completely about Boba Fett. THAT WOULD BE SWEET

I have been saying and wanting something like this
for years. KT would be an ideal candidate for such a
novel, or possibly even Luceno. He did an amazing job
with Cloak of Deception, which is close to
what you mention above.

I like Luceno's work better for this than Traviss', she's better at the ground combat - special forces type stuff. I think Luceno would be better for the intrigue and suspense involved.

*> I like how SW is spreading into different styles.
Personally, I'd like to see some spy novels in the
e series. NRI, ISB, either of those would be good.*

My main problem is that I have trouble keeping them all straight. Call me a clonist, but they all look alike. So sue me. :)

You know, I was a little hard on her when I started reading these books. But I've had thought about it a bit, and I can admit I was wrong. She's basically just doing for the clones and stormies what Allston and Stackpole did for fighter jocks.

And yeah, she's dealing with clones, so there're gonna be a lot more psychological issues with them than with regular humans.

I like how SW is spreading into different styles. Personally, I'd like to see some spy novels in the series. NRI, ISB, either of those would be good.

So yeah, I was unduly hard on Karen, and I was wrong. I may not get around to reading the second book any time soon, but I'll still buy them when they come out. in paperback.

Just wondering, do you have any idea how many Imperial Commando books you're going to make?

I've actually corresponded with her on email before, with this exact same question.

The answer is, she doesn't know. RC/IC is an ongoing series. It just started with one (Hard Contact), and when it sold well, sequels were made. Basically, the series is going to keep going as long as it sells well enough to do so. Not even Karen herself knows when the series will end or what the final book will be.

Is Karen still on here?

No, she left several years ago as workload got heavy.
However, she maintains a contact form via her address
and usually answers fan mail if a reasonable amount
of time depending on how busy she is.

True. Traviss is one of very few authors I've ever sent fan (e)-mail to (about Revelation, my favorite installment of Legacy), and the only one that has ever responded...and she responded with a multiple paragraph response.

It's touches like that that really make me like her. I've even been toying with buying the Republic Commando series, and I don't read anything in the prequel era.

No, she hasn't posted here in a couple of years. I believe her focus is fixed on novel writing.

Is Karen still on here? If so, I just finished Ally and i'm in the middle of Judge. They are really good, can't put them down. Just wondering, do you have any idea how many Imperial Commando books you're going to make?

Jango may not have known about the Sith, but he did know Dooku's alias(or Sith name) was Tyrannus. He also knew that Dooku was leading the Seperatists, AND he knew that Dooku had recruited him to create a clone army for the Republic. Jango knew Dooku was playing both sides.
Jango didn't have to know about the Sith, but he did know that Dooku was plotting against the Republic and the Jedi. He was leading a civil war against them! The Jedi and the Republic were one and the same. In O66 Traviss implies that part of his motivation for being cloned was to destroy the Jedi. I'll concede that he may not have known about Sidious and the Sith, but that doesn't mean all he was interested in was cash and a clone (Boba).

Jango was paid well, and he got Boba out of the deal,
but that was his arrangement with the Kaminoans.
Jango knew Tyrannus and Sydious were out to destroy
the republic and the Jedi, so his interest was more
than financial. He wanted revenge against the Jedi,
and helping Tyrannus (Dooku) build an army of
Mandolorian clones was a great way to rid the galaxy
of the Jedi.

Where did it say in the movie or book that Jango knew anything about the Sith. Sure he was hired by dooku, and that dooku led the seps, but that doesn't mean he knew dooku was a sith working for one. For all Jango knew, Dooku was just a rogue Jedi stirring up trouble, and, more importantly, a Rogue Jedi stirring up trouble who could afford to keep him on retainer for a decade.

There is no information anywhere that Jango knew what the army's ultimate goal was, nor that he knew of sidious.
