Hi --
I want to thank you all for welcoming me here. I've so appreciated our conversations and the fun we've had, and will really miss you all. It's been a lot of fun getting to know you and having this forum be a part of my work-life. I've appreciated having a direct connection between the books and the readers -- something most editors never get to experience in this way. I'm grateful to you all for your openness, your humor, and for staying with the adventure.
As far as keeping in touch via other sites -- the future is hazy; outlook unclear.
Love you all -- and thanks again, so much!!!!
Sue

Ok so is that just me or does that sound like Mind Walking? Are there any more instances like this? Other thoughts?
The quote refers to becoming a Force Ghost. And yes, there are quite a few instances of that going around. I would invite you to the Force Philosophy thread to discuss in greater detail, but it seems rather pointless now...
As for Sue and continued posting, I can't imagine that she isn't as addicted to the forums as we are (nice break from work too, I imagine :D), so I'm pretty sure she won't be able to keep her fingers away from some other outlet.

Dear Sue,
Thanks so much for keeping all of us up to date with SW novels! It was so great to have a direct connection to what was going on at LucasBooks. It really means a lot. Even more so, you were always so fun when you talked with us. You could have just posted spreadsheet like information, but instead you gave enthusiastic answers to our questions. Talking with you was one of my first and favorite forum memories, back when the Plagueis novel was confirmed to be a go again.
I hope to continue hearing from you somewhere else, but if not, God bless and may the Force continue to be with you!

So, i already posted this as its own forum, but since i read that the authors will actually be replying to this as well, i might as well post it on here.
Alright so, i think that this is a really interesting topic that either a) i havent looked hard enough or b) found enough info on. while reading my copy of Revenge of The Sith by Matt Stover, i noticed a part that sounded alot like what Ben and Luke learned to do in Abyss. This is the conversation Yoda has with Qui-Gon Jin aboard the Tantive IV at Polis Massa (the italics is Qui-Gon speaking).
"Infinite knowledge. . ." Yoda shook his head. "Infinite time, does that require."

Hello Sue,
I just wanted to say thank you for all your visits here, and I very much enjoyed your info on new books. I wouldn't have known about the Essential Guide to Warfare if it was not for your info. I also wanted to let you know that I have joined EUCantina and I'm inviting you there. More of us are there as well. I know we would love for you to join us to share info on books. Please consider this.
Your Fan,
Emp

I'm sad to hear the Star Wars Forums are closing at the end of the month.
Sue, do you have any plans to continue talking with us and providing new tidbits of information via other methods? Maybe on a special Facebook or Twitter account?
So many of us are curious. I know that we'd (EUCatnina.net) love to have any VIPs who would like to come to our forums and chat in our VIP thread, or any other threads. This VIP interaction has been one of the greatest things about the forums beyond the fan interactions. http://www.eucantina.net/forums/
Good night TOS forums. You've been a good home for over a decade.
I second IR2's notion, and invite Sue and the other VIPs to come over to EUCantina. Before the EUCantina moved, Sue used to post over there in our version of the VIP thread. I hope to see her, and Drew and Miller and Leland and all the others back there!

Wow, that totally stinks. I don't have facebook or twitter accounts and really don't have much interest in getting them. Why would this be shut down? Obviously there is plenty of interest in it based on the number of posts.
Really, I get most of my updated info here. I also go to eucantina, but this is a real bummer. Let alone not getting bits of info from Sue here and there.
Well, thanks for all you have interacted with us Sue, I have greatly appreciated and enjoyed it.

Could be a sign of a lot of readers clicking the "interested" links on the sites? I know Amazon has some Kindle links if a book's not available. Perhaps enough readers have done this to justify the release of them. I'm excited about it! I'm hoping they have a discount for bundles.
My wife reads romance like I do SW and she would get some book sets at discount prices which is cool- but as someone who has probably every one of these 96 books in paperback of Hardcover paying the full 7.99 for all 96 would be something that would take a while. But a bundled incentive might tempt me to shell the cash out sooner then later.
Stoked for the ability to get my SW collection on my kindle!

Hi Sue,
I had a question about how you handle manuscripts. I'd like to understand what you do when you get one.
-Does it come electronically, or in paper? If the former, do you print it? How many pages, roughly?
-How long does it take to read a manuscript?
-How do you make edits? Is it like with a red pen? Or with "Track Changes" on in Word?
-How many versions do you see? When you finish with a manuscript, do they make changes and send you another? Or is it "Make these changes, and then I agree."?
Is it different for comics? Do you look at the final outcome, or the script?
I'm still grateful for the "day in the life of Sue Rostoni" blog post you did a while back, and was hoping to learn a bit more about how reading and editing manuscripts works.
Thank you!
Check out my new Column "The Star Wars Dissection" at www.eucantina.net!

Hey Sue,
Finished The Old Republic: Deceived last night. I just wanted to say thanks to you and the rest of the editorial team. What a tremendously fun book and a very compelling new anti-hero to follow. Just the right mix of action, adventure, light/dark, and romance to make a complete feeling story.
At least to my eye it also seemed like a very well edited book with very few errors. The one that stuck out most however was in the Fate of the Jedi section at the end, the caption under Master Hamner's picture listed him as "Hammer." (Pg. 275).
Plus Paul taught me a new word and a new meaning for a word. I never knew "careered" meant "to go at top speed especially in a headlong manner." (Pg. 234)
Pete
