I don't know if this is just my computer or all computers, but has amazon.com stopped selling the Omnibuses or what?
There is currently some kind of issue between Amazon and Diamond (the comics distributor). It's affecting graphic novels from a range of publishers.

It's an Amazon thing. They do it with pre-release items all the time.

The major change is that we've moved some of the Fate of the Jedi novels, beginning next year, to give the authors a bit more time to write .... longer novels.*
I don't have BACKLASH yet, but word has it that it's only 309 pages. I'm hoping this is only because of Aaron's health issues and that starting with ALLIES we'll be seeing these longer books. This isn't a complaint about paying the hardcover price for short books (though it is annoying) but more an issue with the overall line of SW books getting shorter and shorter (with the exception of STEALTH for some reason). Take a look at the last 8 novels:
OUTCAST - 302
NO PRISONERS - 257
OMEN - 236
ABYSS - 317
DEATH TROOPERS - 234
CROSSCURRENT - 318
STEALTH - 395
BACKLASH - 309
Are the authors being rushed? Because I have no problem waiting an extra few months if it means I get another 100 pages of story.

It's not unreasonable to ask; maybe Star Wars ceased some deal with Amazon selling Omnibi.

*I don't know if this is just my computer or all computers, but has amazon.com stopped selling the Omnibuses or what? When I check amazon, it shows no prices for actually buying them and the future two say "Sign up to be notified when this item becomes available?" So is it my computer, they ran out, or did they just stop selling them?

I'm not Sue, but it seems the easy way to find this out is to email Amazon customer services!

I always thought we need more eras. Seriously the Sith rule for ever per the Eras- they have the Sith era, then Palpatine sets up the Jedi during the Prequels then takes them out, Classic- the Sith are still in charge, New Republic though they are still at war with the Sith's Empire, then comes the NJO which I love but has been more a series then an Era- untill now that we have the Invasion arc. Legacy which should ONLY have had the Legacy comic not the stuff that should have been in the NJO era- LotF, FotJ.
Seriously the eras are wack.
There could be twice as many.

I always thought the length of each era was sort of arbitrary. Like the first one is 24,000 years long, then 1,000 years, then 5 years, then 20 years, then 15 years, then an indeterminate number. I mean, obviously it's because most people are most familiar with the movies, but it still always seemed a bit weird to me.

Oh, and does the Rise of the Empire era officially start at 33 BBY now instead of 1000 BBY
TBH, I believe that that makes better sense to have the Rise of the Empire era begin closer to the Battle of Naboo than to the Battle of Ruusan.
Personally I've always seen the Rebellion era begin at 2BBY rather than at the 0BBY, so placing Empire era at 33BBY is more appropriate to the idea of a 'rise' (I mean if Rise of the Empire begins at 1000BBY it implies it has taken 1000 years for (Palpatine's) Empire to rise from the ashes of Ruusan, when Palpatine would have been, at the most, alive for just 6-7% of that time). Especially when GL's focus has been on Palpatine's era rather than the recurring Sith Empire's of the EU (TotJ, KotOR, Legacy).
However, 33BBY does mean that Jude Watson's Jedi Apprentice series now falls into The Old Republic era (?), so maybe Empire should begin around 60-70 BBY, or even at Palpatine's turn to the Dark Side (if that info is ever made available).

Might have something to do with AotC taking place in the fifth month of the year, although that would make 22.5 even farther off.

Yeah, Path of Destruction should be 1,003 - 1000 BBY. And the following two novels both take place after 1000 BBY, and are technically part of the Rise of the Empire Era.
While we're on the subject of being picky about the timeline, I've always been bothered by +The Approaching Storm+'s placement of 22.5 BBY. It takes place in the days before Episode II (it even takes place during the Episode II novelization), so it should be at 22 BBY just before Episode II, no?

1- the last letter in two of the X-Wing books (...) are dropped like half a line
Yeah, that was weird. It has been corrected in Backlash.
2- Crosscurrent is shown as a subset of Millennium Falcon.
In Backlash it is no longer a subset and Crosscurrent is placed before Millennium Falcon.
It's good too that Imperial Commando is placed after Episode III now.
But one question, Sue: I don't know if this has already been asked before, but why are the Darth Bane novels placed at 1020 BBY? As I take it most of the first novel should take place 1000 BBY and the parts happening earlier can't take place 20 years before that, can they?
Oh, and does the Rise of the Empire era officially start at 33 BBY now instead of 1000 BBY, so that (almost) everything before Episode I is considered Old Republic era? I don't think this was the case in previous publications.
Thanks and keep up the good work!

Sue-
Can you tell us when the Nomi Sunrider novel is set compared to the comics?
Also, do you have a date for LTotS: Savior yet?
Thanks.

Plus Order 66 & Imp. Commando are in wrong place.
Well, not quite. They ought to be at the end of the timeline, certainly, but they chose to group by series instead of chronologically in that case. Technically they fall in the "22-19 BBY" category, which is where they are placed. I think this was changed a few books ago, like for Death Troopers maybe.

*Does anyone else's copy of Gambit: Stealth have the following weirdnesses in their Timeline:?
1- the last letter in two of the X-Wing books (I believe Wedge's Gamble and The Bacta War) are dropped like half a line
2- Crosscurrent is shown as a subset of Millennium Falcon. As in, Millennium Falcon is shown, and Crosscurrent is under it, indented, like it's a spinoff or sequel.
Crazy eh?*
It's in the UK edition as well!!
Plus Order 66 & Imp. Commando are in wrong place.

Hi Sue,
Sorry if you've answered this in the past.
Is Matthew Stover on the horizon for any new books?
Thanks

Hi Sue! Just a couple of comments:
I just finished reading the three Lost Tribe of the Sith parts and I'm aching for more. They're a great read and I can't wait to buy them in a book-form.
And a general question: do you know how much copies of a typical Star Wars book, like Troy's Abyss, are sold world-wide?
Thanks for reading these posts!
