Is the Star Wars: BLack Orchid to be told as a prequal or as a flashback?

It's not a flashback, no.

*Any chance on a Publishing schedule blog update. *

Maybe within the next couple of weeks.

*email: The art director at Del Rey requests reference for Saba Sebatyne for her appearance on the back cover of VORTEX. I searched around and sent him what we have.
*

Saba eh? Awesome!

*email string: Discussion with Shelly Shapiro at Del Rey regarding the title to Joe Schreiber's new SW novel. Should it be THE BLACK ORCHID or BLACK ORCHID. We settle on STAR WARS: BLACK ORCHID. *

Is this the Death Troopers prequel?

I'm assuming he either can't or most likely doesn't want to write both at the same time, so the TOR book is likely going to be in 2012.

When I asked Kemp, after the TOR book announcement, he said he thought that his TOR would probably come out before the CC-Sequel.

As for his being able to do it or not, he's a multiple-book-a-year author, who recently split from his other franchise. So he's certainly got the time and the ability. I think it's just a question of when RH has the opening for it.

I don't think I've asked this yet, but I haven't had coffee yet either, so who knows...

What are the chances that Karen Traviss could finish IC2, with her preconcieved ideas and plot plans, the way she meant to, the way it was meant to be read, and ignore the changes made in TCWAS, and if LFL needs to, call it an "Infinity"

We all know there are stories out there that smash continuity to bits, why not one more, and bring some proper closure to the series, and the fans.

All I know for sure is that we're heading into a three-day weekend!!!!

I'm jealous! It is a holiday in Ontario (we call it Family Day), but I work for the Federal government, which only allows certain provincial holidays.

Anyways, enjoy the R&R!

*Crosscurrent sequel: July 2011
Kemp's TOR book: I'm not sure about this one. *

I still have ~70 pages to go in Crosscurrent, but whatever happens I'm already looking forward to the sequel (and his TOR book). I really like his descriptive writing style. That, and the book has been awesome to this point. ;)

They weren't with the last contract, but when the new contract was announced Sue said that the game books were built in this time, Including ImpCom and whatever adaptations/tie ins were to come.

Thanks jason and Sue! And I'm right there with you on the three day weekend. :D

I think we have the schedule close to figured out, as far as announced titles go, but we're lacking only the current dates for Holostar, the Crosscurrent Sequel, and Kemp's TOR book.

Holostar: March 2011
Crosscurrent sequel: July 2011
Kemp's TOR book: I'm not sure about this one.

Can I ask for a few release dates before you go off for your (hopefully) nice, relaxing weekend?

Yep, that's right. It's pretty confusing, though. Books get added, formats get changed, pub dates are moved around....... All I know for sure is that we're heading into a three-day weekend!!!!

I didn't think game tie-in novels were part of the same contract as the rest of the books? Ditto with Republic Commando and potentially Imperial Commando. That's also why I assume you didn't include Stealth and Siege in the list - separate contract.

*is there a reason we just saw the Vortex cover while the Allies back cover is only now being worked on, *

The front covers are needed first for catalogs and sales material. The back covers can wait....
