*given the example of this new author, how does the process work from there? *
This gets asked from time to time, so I'll write a blog on the process.....

Sue - Since we already know who's going to be on the back of Vortex, can you tell us who's going to be on the back of Allies?
(I'm actually a little surprised and disappointed that so many people were asking when, while they could have been asking about who. :p)

I just updated my blog.... hope it doesn't bore anybody.
Thank you Sue! It's cool to see how much actually gets done behind the scenes.
And you said you saw the initial concept art of Kerra Holt:
...is she cute?

ilogicalrogue2- The clone war comic did pretty at a
steady 14, 000 issues per month. Dark Times has all
this super art and has more delays than late credit
card payments, and they only sell about 18,000.
Compared to the Blackest Knight hit that has well
over 80,000.
All true- Makes you wonder why they chose to axe it because or "low interest"

That's alot of emailing Sue...
LucasArts needed some reference material, eh? For Force Unleashed II or another project?
Saba Sebatyne to appear on the back cover of Vortex is Fantastic! I hope to see some more supporting characters make their appearance on the rest of the covers. Like Jag, Jaina, Corran, Kyp, Cighal, Tahiri, etc...
Thanks for the interesting blog Sue, I enjoyed reading it. It gave us a few teasers.
Oh, and one more question... Is Kerra Holt hot?

I doubt it, since original fiction probably wouldn't be called an excerpt.

email string: Discussions about the next fiction excerpt for the Insider magazine.
Does this mean we get to see the return of original fiction in the Insider????
Hope hope hope (that was the reason I initially subscribed in the first place)

No English speaking countries have shown interest in translating these, so probably not.

*stuff: Read a few more chapters of a novel by published author who is interested in writing a Star Wars novel. I like the writing, the characters, the foreshadowing and set-ups - happily approved the author. Yes! *
Hi Sue. I wasn't aware that it worked that way - as in, an author will contact YOU about writing a Star Wars novel rather than the other way around. Is there some criteria that they have to pass before you'll even check out their novels? Like they must have been publishing for x amount of time, or have y published books, or have worked within another series with continuity issues, etc.?
Also, given the example of this new author, how does the process work from there? Do you give the author an era and a general idea and they flesh out an outline? Or do they literally have the freedom to go wherever they want with their proposal? If they come back with something that conflicts with a known timeline or something are they automatically dumped for not even bothering to check with continuity? Clearly someone like Paul Kemp did his homework, but there might be people you turned away that came back with a storyline set in 27 ABY when the galaxy was at peace instead of Coruscant being overthrown, or other such nonsense.
Thanks Sue - inquiring minds are curious!

Is there any hope that the LFL approved French Young Indy books will be translated into English? Or even better, the LFL approved German Indy books by Wolfgang Hohlbein?

Sue,
I see from your blog the 90s Young Indy books are still being translated into foreign languages. Is there any hope that the LFL approved French Young Indy books will be translated into English? Or even better, the LFL approved German Indy books by Wolfgang Hohlbein?
