Especially considering that the (I think) International Copyright Law states that it is a maximum of three months after a work is published that other countries should have to wait for it.

I'm no lawyer, but I can't imagine how or why copyright law would require worldwide releases.

FX-6. Note that this is also mentioned in the ROTS novelization.

Thanks Tasty!!!! I'm only halfway through the novel so I will come across it eventually.

BTW, will we learn more about the battles mentioned in the Incredible Cross-Sections? About their timeplacements and stuff? And will we ever see another incarnation of the HoloNet News? :)

*Is there any chance that the books in the next Del
Rey contract (2006-2008) will be published in
Australia, or in fact anywhere but America and
Britain?*

Yes, it's my understanding that they'll be published in Australia also. Probably a few weeks after the US and UK editions. What's the status now? Were the Clone Wars books available there? Labyrinth of Evil???

Yes, it would be greatly appreciated. I for one am getting increasingly frustrated with waiting for (most of the time) over one or two months after our US and UK counterparts for the novels.

Especially considering that the (I think) International Copyright Law states that it is a maximum of three months after a work is published that other countries should have to wait for it.

Seems this does not apply in Australia. Funny, I thought we were part of the world. :p

VIPs, do you know of anything that we as Aussie readers can do to raise awareness of this issue to the right people?

will be published in Australia

Yeah...so we can get them (relatively) on time for
once? Or Even get them at all?

Edit: Sorry, that sounded rude. I apologise and
realise the V.I.P's really have no control over when
we get the books. : )

I fully agree with this - especially as I recently heard that the book sales in Australia account for a very high percentage (something like 40%) of the market of the books in Commonwealth countries (thanks Karen. ;)).

We are missing out on so much at the moment - I'm having to import "The Making Of", "Secrets of the Jedi" and "The Last of the Jedi" because I can't find them anywhere here.

If there was some way the VIPs could consider this issue it would be greatly appreciated by all us Aussies. :)

Confirmed.<<

Awesome- now I'll have all three, sweet.

Now all you have to do is release slipcase versions of the three original film novelizations, instead of packing them together as a 3-in-1 ;)

Which of the sources is right when naming the predecessor of medical droid FX-7: Star Wars Insider # 81 has it as FX-6 (which is the most probable one), while the RotS Visual Dictionary has it as FX-9...

FX-6. Note that this is also mentioned in the ROTS novelization.

*VIP's- can you confirm if there will be a special
slipcase edition of the ROTS novel at Celebration 3*?

Confirmed. It will be signed, but it's not leather bound... it's in a black slipcase with a silver Darth Vader on the slipcase and on the front of the book (which is also black). The lettering on the spine is in silver. It's limited to 1,000 signed copies and will be on sale at the Border's booth (I believe). I think it's retailing at $100.00. It looks very nice.

LEGO Star Wars Mini-Movie Coming Soon

Is this going to be based on events from the movie, or will it be a new story? Will it be in-continuity?

But seriously, Sue, if Leia still isn't accepted as a Jedi, then what is she? She isn't a diplomat/politician anymore, both by her own resolution and by the Yuuzhan Vong (and some annoyingly silly Republican politicians) trashing all the work she did in the political arena. And I don't think we should simply label her "Han's wife and co-pilot," thats too... sexist, for want of a better word. So who is Leia Post-NJO? Apart from being a hero and easy on the eyes, that is... ;)

Ah, she'll always be a Princess in my eyes. :)

Whadda tink she is, a Jedi??!?!??!

Well... yes. :D Despite every man and his dog (um, I mean, every man and his Wookiee) telling Leia she isn't a Jedi and despite almost every fan ranting about how she should never be one, I think Leia has displayed time and again the skills and requirements that a Jedi should meet.

And even if you can't accept all that, she looked mighty fine wielding that lightsaber (with her new hairdo!) on +Star By Star+'s cover. Which coincidentally, was also done by Cliff Neilson. :D

Round of applause for whoever decided to put Leia front and center on Unseen Queen
