What kind of blaster did Leia use in rotj?
The X-30 "Lancer" target blaster pistol mentioned in the Arms and Equipment Guide RPG supplement is supposed to be Leia's blaster in RJ.
One of the blogs I've been intending to do will list the personal blasters seen in the films.

I have greatly enjoyed the new, shiny editions of the Essential Guides. The first round of guidebooks was simply indispensible (who doesn't love obscure background information?), and it's wonderful to see the series updated for the Prequels and New Jedi Order. I eagerly awaite the release of the New Guide to Alien Species and -- hopefully -- the New Guide to Planets and Moons.

On the artwork for the New Essential Chronology. While artwork was on whole good but two things irk me.
1.Tahiri has blond hair not red hair and has three scars on her forehead (the image is supposed to be post Conquest).
2. The picture for the battle of Coruscant during the great hyperspace war has Gondorian soldiers!

The New Essential Guide to Droids is really great! The information given in this book, together with what we see onscreen in AOTC, shows that the CIS with its "millions" of droid factories and "dozens of mechworlds" for the TU alone, built many quintillions of droids in the timeframe specified by NEGtD with ease.

james31278, this is a point on the rules of the site:
Do NOT make personal attacks against personalities in the Star Wars franchise that contribute to it.
Saying things like "Saxton is full of himself" etc - this is unnecessary and uncalled for. Discuss ideas, not people. It is perfectly ok to express discontent over published materials, but the policy is we don't allow any negative personal attacks about any members of the SW community.

I really don't care if this discussion is 3 or 4 years old.
Star Wars doesn't do first name/ship class like we do in real life. Star Wars is purely fantasy, Imperator is also a fan created name, Geoffrey Mandel invented the name but never worked for Lucasfilm. He told me himself those blueprints aren't official, saxton is full of himself. He lost the Super Star Destroyer naming debate now he's trying this. good luck mate you'll need it.

I was intrigued and slightly disappointed by the whole issue with plaigus possibly creating anakin. it does make things a little more complicated but it could make for an excellent book. TPM and AoTC leads us to believe that the Force, with no one elses help, created anakin to solve the problem with Sidious unbalancing it. This new info leads us to believe that Plaigus was going to use anakin to his own ends which would have unbalanced anyway.

I too noticed the Lord of the Rings style soldiers in the Battle of Coruscant (Hyperspace War) picture.
I was really interested in all of the pre-Republic stuff. I also enjoyed finding out about the Alsakan Conflicts and the hyperspace cannons. Hopefully, an EU author in the future may expand on this premesis.

On the other hand, there are fans who legitimately don't have the funds to read Star Wars, but would like to. For the case of my friends in those situations, my bookshelf becomes their library.
I clean out my books about once a year, I offer them to friends and donate the others to the
Library. In the case of Star Wars though, since I am an active nerd, I keep all the books
close by for reference. I don't have all of them and add to my collection when my budget
allows. I wish I could think of a way to share with other Star War fans who cannot afford the
books. It would be great for anyone who has a interest to be able to join in this wonderful
world of Star Wars. Lots of times I would like to send the book right thru the computer to
someone, if only this was possible. That would require a transporter, where's Scotty when
you need him? LOL LOL Just some thoughts from Obi-dog

I agree completely. I have most of the novels, a lot of which I picked up cheaply in old bookshops, but I doubt I'll every start reading the comics. I have thougt many times about picking up the "big ones" such as Dark Empire or Tales of the Jedi, but it costs so much to buy them as they are produced as a series of mini issues. Granted I could get the trade paperbacks, but to get all of the Tales of the Jedi era comics I'd have to pick up 7 books, each with a price tag of about £10. Thats a lot of cash, so I understand why people find it hard to make the step and start reading EU.
