Doesn't take much brain power to see that she doesn't know. I mean, she even said in the quoted portion of his post that she doesn't get advance warnings of when these things are coming in.
I mean, it's not much of a stretch of the imagination to think that if it's true for the Allies cover, then it would also be true for Backlash's backcover.

I really don't know. I don't get advance notice -- they just show up in my inbox. I haven't seen the concept yet, so I'm betting it won't be ready to post for another couple of months.
What about the back cover for +Backlash+? When do you think will see that?

Sometimes they use other models -- sometimes they use art that's already been generated as starting points. Just depends on the artist. And I really can't tell you what covers used what model or reference without a lot of research... not that it's a secret or anything; it would be too time-consuming.

Related cover question:
A lot of the cover art for various SW works featuring Mara Jade has used Shannon McRandle as the cover model reference. Those are pretty obvious. But some clearly haven't, although they are still lovely representations of what Mara might look like. Who are those models? Or are the artists just drawing without a model? (Or are they using Shannon but it just doesn't end up looking like Shannon?)
Just wondered.
